Jaxson
I open the worn doors of the building and strutted into the outdoors with Niyah in tow.
"Look so when we get in the car don't say nothing embarrassing ,iight?" I said.
Laniyah stopped abruptly behind me.
"Don't tell me what to do. And who is this chick anyway? You like her or something? " She said with a face of concern.
I turned to fully face her.
"Don't call her a chick ma that's disrespectful. And it doesn't matter if I like her just be chill." I turned around and began walking to the car when I noticed through the window that the seat was empty.
"Alea?" I said once I reach the car.
She was gone.
I looked around the parking lot and down the street but she was gone.
How could she just disappear that quick?
"Bwahahaha so we lying about havin girls now?!" Niyah criticized
I just got in and saw my radio station wasn't changed....
$$
I was sitting on my bed listening to King Kunta by my main Kenny waiting for my alarm to go off. I couldn't sleep not know what happened to Alea. I don't have no bad vibes like someone to her but I still feel someway.I enjoyed our ice cream skip session and I thought she did too but I don't know. Hope do you just disappear without saying nothing.
"Jax!" My mother yelled.
I answered back with a loud grunt.
She informed me that I had mail.
I pulled the cover off me legs and ran downstairs. I had applied to a summer program at the local community college and this may be my acceptance letter.
Even though I may not be the best student I maintained a 2.7 GPA . I wanted to go to college but it's a long short for some one like me . I don't have no money and my grades aren't college worthy. But I figured if I really work hard next year I can get a better GPA and apply for federal aid,I should get some money especially since I come from a single parent home.

Omniscient POV
Ms. Cross sat at the old wooden dining table that she had purchased from a second-hand store a year prior. She ran through the mail of the day following the pattern.
She paid every bill that was hidden in the mail and as she sighed. She dialed her banks number to get a balance inquiry and when the automated voice told her,her remaining balance she sighed heavily.
After collecting her racing thoughts she looked at the last few envelopes , two address to her son,Jaxson and one to her daughter Laniyah. Her eyes grazed over the smooth white surface of the first envelope and saw it was addressed to Jaxson from Everett Community College. The next was to Laniyah and it was from Jacob Cross,Laniyah and Jaxson's father and her ex-husband. Her nearly eyes popped out of their socket as she comprehended the name over and over.
She had spoken to her ex-husband in two year since he was imprisoned for 6 months. She glanced at the remaining envelope and say it was from the same man but addressed to her son.
Soon entered Laniyah into the room over. She walked in haste.
"Hey ma." The child said in greeting . She kissed her mother and looked at the papers the age women held.
"Momma what's wrong? What you got here? " the girl took the envelopes from her mother.
Laniyah Cross was a 14 year old and had an attitude . She was very intellectual and could get information very quickly. She was observant but her boisterous personality gets in the way if that. She stands at just 5'2 but her person roars as 6'2. She loves her brother and is very protective of him but doesn't like for her to see it. She adorns her mother but she is a fathers daughter.
After reading the letter on the envelope. Her face lit up as tears pricked at the corner her eyes.
"It's a letter from my daddy, momma!" She squealed and ripped open the seal. Snatching the college ruled line paper tainted with blue ink the young girl began reading with a fixed face.
She smiled then laughed then remain quiet ,then smiled.
"Oh my god momma daddy is out and coming to Creek. He said that he can't wait to see all of us ."Laniyah exclaimed.
She continued to dwell on the memories and what the letter held.
After quieting down she glanced back at the table.
"Jaxson isn't gonna like this...is he?" She asked her mother
"I honestly can't answer that." Ms.Cross answered
She then called down her son and prepared for all of his possible reactions.

Jaxson
I jogged into the kitchen and saw Niyah blocking the view of my mom. I walked around the table and kissed my mothers head. I looked at the un organized table and found my mail.
I ripped open the first without reading the envelope. I pulled out some notebook paper and began reading.
