Alea
I was tapping my pencil rapidly and staring through the window of the library wall. My eyes burned and threatened to show my real emotions. I didn't want to be here and I definitely didn't want to be here: broken, in-front of Jaxson Cross. I am just wondering if he can see how bad I am. He has been reading off the project options from the list Ms.B gave me for the past 10 minutes.
"....and lastly create a story with a troubled family and show their problem resolved with keys we learned in class." Jaxson said with a monotone.
He glanced up from the thin white sheet of paper for the first time and stared at me. I felt his eyes burning a hole in my face so I turned to face him while moving more into the greyish round table we chose to sit.
"What?" I said softly. I was avoiding eye contact and staring at his forehead. He had two bumps presumably from acne but it didn't take too much attention from his other features.
He stared intently at me and then his eyes glazed over my body. Not in a sexual way simply just observing.
" Which project?" He said sharply.
I only heard the last one so I said that one and looking back at the window.
"You okay?" He spoke after a few minutes.
I nodded. I was okay. I just was hurting and numb. I feel like that's when you hit the bottom. When you have been through so much and the pain can be felt just numb. As if your mind is protecting you from feeling the hurt even though you know the pain is still there.
"Then why you acting like that all down and stuff. You on or sum?"
I ignored his comment because I didn't have the energy to snap.
"How about I just call you later or something?" I questioned thought it sounded more like a statement.
I rose from my seat and grabbed my backpack.
"Where is you going girl,we gotta work on this thing now." Jaxson whined.
He shot me an irritated look.
" First of all ,it's where ARE you going, and my name is Alea." I said carelessly. I shook my head at his ignorance and began walking away from the table in the direction of the library exit.
While I was walking through the Non-Fiction section , my arm was grabbed. Soon pain shot there and I winced with a audible "Seeeeeethh." I gritted my teeth together.
I snapped my head around and caught eyes with Jaxson.
"Why are you gra- " I started while snatched my arm away and soothing the pain with my right hand.
"Look I don't know whats wrong with you but I'm sorry for accusing you of being on your thing,"
He said gesturing towards his privates,
" ,but look if you just wanna skip and get ice cream ,just so you can get your mind off whatever. I'm down."
His eyes showed endearment and genuine regret but I still didn't trust him. It wasn't his fault though it was my own personal issues.
"I don't think so." I stated and walked away , leaving him there.

Exiting the library I just began walking around school until I realized ,I really did want to leave school.Too late Lea.
I huffed and walked through the gym to the bleachers outside. It was really warm out even though the sun was hiding behind the clouds.
