Omniscient POV
"So wssp?" He spoke
Alea shifted her wait to her right food and looked off into the distance. Noticing a tree swaying in the September breeze. After procrastinating for as long as possible she averted her eyes to the hazel pool of Jaxson Cross' eyes.
She analyzed her possible options for handling the situation. She could act clueless and walk away ,she could lie to him,or she could apoligize.
"I'm sorry." She blurted in the vast silence of the two.
Her cocoa eyes begged for understanding. Jaxson just looked at her and then after a moment looked away and chuckled.
"You weird ma. Maybe too weird. I'll see you when I see you." The young boy turned on his heels and strutted down the sidewalk. As he reached for the rusted metal door handle to enter the building -
"Wait!" Alea said in not a yell nor normal tone but somewhere in between. A voice foreshadowed an aching ,she didn't like how this would end.
She pondered on why she cared so much. Why did she need his forgiveness? How guilty did she feel?
After looking at him as he began walking to him she realized that she had a crush on him. The conversation they shared at the ice cream shop was great. She was comfortable and he was funny and to top it off she had ice cream.
He walked close to her. They were arms length -well Jaxson's arm length.
"I have a reason for leaving like I did." She spoke softly why examining the ratty converse on feet.
He stepped a step closer.
With his right index finger he lifter her chin ,forcing her to meet eye contact.
" It doesn't matter. I mean by the looks of it you are alright and that what matter." He said paralyzing her.
"I didn't change your station." She said smirking.
He lowered his head and chuckled to himself.

Alea POV
I the walked up to the front door and inserted the brass key into the lock.
"Ok MarMar go inside and take off your shoes why I get your snack."
"OTAY!" MJ yelled as ran into the house as soon as I opened the door.
I walked into the old house as the floor board creaked. I turned the corner where the living room and kitchen met and froze in my steps when I saw the figure sat indian style on the counter.
"Momma?" I question with my eyes peeled.
She was never home and when she was, Marcus was here also.
Her head snapped toward me. She looked different than usual.
My mother was beautiful, she had the same mocha eyes as me and her skin was soft. She had chubby cheeks and long stringy black hair. Usually her eyes were murky and her face wore a tired look and her hair was nappy but in that kitchen she was different.
Her aura was light and positive?
"Lele." she spoke whispering.
As if her appearance wasn't alien enough she hadn't called me that since my father left before i was a teen.
"Hey baby." she spoke. Her voice was like honey- consistent and aged.
Why was she acting like this? Where was Marcus?
Her bony figure sashayed to me and engulfed me in a hug.
"How was your day?" She asked.
I just stared at her. My body stiff as a board.
"Whats got you mute? Huh baby whats wrong?"
After years of harsh words and the cold shoulder, randomly one afternoon she turns to a loving mother? Am I supposed to just love and adorn her again? I think not.
I turned on my heels and jogged out the kitchen to MJ and I's room.
I pulled my backpack on my twin bed and unzipped it.
I withdrew my math homework and began solving the equations.
"Ok so I minus the x,which cancels it out and then I minus it to this side and it will make b negative."
My phone began to vibrate over and over to signal I was receiving a call from an unknown number.
"Hello?" I answered in my best dude voice.
"Uhhh hello?" the caller said
"Yeah wssp?" I said in my man voice.
"Nevermind wrong number." The dial sounded and I shrugged.
I proceeded with my homework then remembered I gave Jaxson my phone number .
I picked up my phone and redialed the number.
After 3 rings he answered.
"Hello?"
My stomach soon became effervescent.
"Jaxson?" I said
"Alea? Your voice sound like an angel on the phone. What's up shorty?"
"I think you are exaggerating."
"You right. You sound like my grandma."
I laughed.
"What?! No ok I'm sorry I'll accept angel." I said.
"What you tryna say about my grandma ma?!" He said fake angry.
I laughed.
