"God I love nothing more than early releases!" Kirry said.

Kayla and I laughed at her sudden outburst.

"She ain't wrong" I added.

We were driving,on our way to the Mall since we got out at 10:33am. Teacher Development Days are God sent.

Especially for me because I don't have to tell my mom or Marcus. We planned this mall day yesterday so I dressed up a tad. It's not every day I get to go out without someone breathing down my neck.  I was wearing a black crop top with a folded down green jumpsuit. We were going to see a movie and then go karting.

We sang along the ride to every  song that came on .

"La la la la la la la(I love cheap thrills!)La la la la la la la(I love cheap thrills!)La la la la la la la(I love cheap thrills!)La la la la la laI love cheap thrills!" We sang as Sia blast.

Then Let It Go by James Bay played and Jakayla began singing. Little does the world know Kayla can sing.

She exited off the highway as she hit every note.

"So come on, let it go
Just let it be
Why don't you be you
And I'll be me?
Everything that's broke
Leave it to the breeze
Let the ashes fall
Forget about me"

When the song ended we just praised her all the way to the mall.

Kayla can be loud and boisterous  but really she was just as shy and scared as the rest of us. She was my literal best friend. She knows about my situation at home and always asks if I am alright. I have a lot of pride so I never take her generous offers.

We arrived at the mall and walked into the entrance. It was bussin' because nearly every high school in the area had early release. There was a lot of cute boys.

I never really had a massive interest in boys but I did have a type. I liked boys who had a great sense of humor and were witty but I was a cornball so even the simplest Laffy Taffy joke could have me rolling.

I looked over as we passed Rainbow and a white halter dress caught my eye.

"Hey, can we go in here?" I said .

My best friends  agreed and we soon entered the urban store.

This year's fall color was a burgundy/wine color so the store was filled with jackets and shoes with the shade.

Jakayla sashayed through the racks as if she was looking for something in particular.

I walked toward the window displays and my eyes locked on the white dress I saw before.

I realized the dress wasn't at all a halter but instead a white body con with two straps the held up the deep V-neck. The dress was hugging the mannequin like a bandage.

The dress was flashier then my usual wardrobe but I found myself oogling over it.

I stepped away from the plastic person and began looking for the dress in the racks.

I saw a grey sweater that said, "OHANA", That caught my eye but I kept looking for my dress.

There it was.

On a black hanger. I quickly sorted through the row of identical dresses for a medium.

"Alea!" Kirry yelled.

"What?" I replied looking for her.

When I didn't see her  , I listened to her voice for direction.

"Look these pants make me look like I have a booty?! Don't they?!"

I walked back to the fitting rooms and saw her looking in the mirror.
