"You look pale." Asriel commented, his eyes busy scanning a book. He must have took a quick glance at Frisk.
"N-No, I'm fine." Frisk stammered, her voice shaky. She seemed to be a bit in shock of what she just read.
"I'm NOT fine. What the hell?! Risen Angel?! I don't even know if I'm going to make out of this thing alive and then THIS happens?!" Frisk thought.
Few seconds passed, before she looked at Asriel and opened her mouth to speak. "Asriel..."
"What?" He snapped a bit. Frisk didn't flinch this time.
"What made you this way...?" She said quietly. Asriel tensed, and gripped the book he was holding.
"You... you wouldn't be like this if it wasn't for a reason... you wouldn't... kill tons of monsters-- inoccent ones at that-- without having at least an acceptable reason. Please, Asriel..." Frisk said, a tad of desperation hinting in her tone.
Asriel hesitated for a moment. He watched her soft brown hair fall gently on the top of her face. Her warm hazel eyes, filled with kindness, despite looking so broken. He felt his soul's heartbeat grow faster.
What was this human doing to him...?
They've only met for a day. But the effect that this human had inflicted on him was already working.
"I... Hate humanity." Asriel spoke in a low tone. It was almost like he didn't want to tell her, but at the same time he also wanted to give her a reason why he was doing all of this.
"I had a best friend once. She was kind, sweet, the bestest friend anyone could ever have." He paused, not wanting to continue. Frisk stared at him with interest and curiousity shining in her eyes. Though sympathy was also seen in those brown orbs of hers.
"But then she died. That was when my whole world came crashing down... I despise humanity. They only make you love them... care for them... then they leave you. It was sick. My actions were... rash. Incredibly rash. I didn't want to blame myself. Instead I blamed her. And I let out my frustration and anger towards my fellow monsters. They've done nothing wrong... and yet I... I-I..."
Asriel's voice cracked at the end. He bit his lip, preventing the tears that dared to fall. Deep inside his mind, a darker presence rose.
'What... do you think you're DOING?!'
