Calum's P.O.V

Thousands of thoughts ran through my head as I pedaled down the street. The rain came down on me like a cold and refreshing shower, running down the back of my neck and into my clothes. My heart raced as as the adrenaline flowed through my veins, sending a rush through my body, pushing me forward. When I reached the driveway of my house, I pulled open the garage and set my bike up against the wall. As I walk into my home, I am overcome with warm air and a scent that fills my nose with happiness.

"Mum?" I shout from the hallway.

"In the kitchen"

"Would you be making cookies by any chance?" I say, now standing next to my mum.

"Yes, dear. They're in the oven."

"They smell lovely." I told her, placing a kiss on her cheek, then making my way to the living room.

When I enter the room I see my big sister, Mali, sitting on the couch with a smile on her face.

"Mali? Oh my god! What are you doing here? You aren't supposed to be here for another two weeks!" I said as I went to give her a hug.

"Well I came home early. I wanted to surprise you and Mum."

I haven't seem my sister since she went of to university. Ever since I could remember, she had been interested in music, so when she went off to uni to study the subject it didn't come as a surprise.

"So how's school going, little brother?"

I frowned at the nickname. "I'm not little anymore Mali. I'm almost nineteen." I said very matter-of-fact'ly. "But if you must know, there's absolutely nothing out of the ordinary going on at school. But I did meet this guy the other day." I said with a smirk.

"Oh yeah?" She said with a knowing look. "What's he like?"

"It's hard to explain." I told her, which was mostly true. "He's nice. We haven't really had a chance to hang out that much so I don't know much about him."

But all I could think about was how upset he was earlier that night. The way his tears left him so vulnerable yet he still seemed to be holding something back. Sometimes I could see the pain in his eyes and other times you would think there was nothing wrong.

"Oh. Bummer. I was looking forward to hearing about your wedding plans." Mali said with a smirk.

"Haha, very funny."

"They're ready!" My mum shouted from the kitchen.

Then I had an idea. I pulled out my phone and texted Luke.

Calum: Hey! How about we hang out this weekend?

After about an hour and a half, he finally responded.

Luke: Sure :-)

It was a long shot, but I wanted to get to know more about this mysterious boy. I wanted to know what was bothering him. I wanted to know what he's hiding.

I want to apologize for the long wait. I've been having really bad writers block and it's been difficult trying to finish this chapter. But I hope you enjoy it, even though it's short.
