An/ I've edited the last part of this chapter because it didn't really agree with the rest of the plot and I think this version is a little more well written. Please enjoy:)

I sat there with tear stained cheeks, staring at the raven haired boy. He he stood there with his bike right alongside him.

"Luke, have you been crying?" He asked me, setting his bike down on the kickstand.

"Um.."

He then took a seat next to me an the bench. "Look, I know we haven't known each other for very long, but you can trust me with anything."

I looked at him and he gave me a soft, sympathetic smile. Of course, we had only just met, but he can't know my secret. Not even Michael or my brothers knew about my eating disorder. He's a great guy and all, but if I can't even trust my best friend enough to tell him about my situation then how could I tell Calum?

"Me and my mum got into a fight at dinner." I begin to say.

"What about?"

What am I supposed to say? I can't just come right out and say "She got tired of me not eating. Oh, by the way I'm Anorexic." No, I had to think of something else.

"Well, ever since my dad left home, she hasn't really been herself. It's almost like I'm talking to a completely different person." It's not a lie, but it's definitely not what caused me and my mum to fight.

About five months ago, my dad decided to leave home and all of us behind for some woman that he worked with. He said that their marriage just wasn't working and he needed change. He said he would call and visit every chance he got, but I knew that was a lie. Sometimes I could hear them fighting at night, mainly about me and that he couldn't handle it anymore. In other words, I basically ruined their marriage.

"Oh. Luke, if you ever need anything just come talk to me. Like I said before, I know we just met, but you can trust me." Once again, he gave me a warm smile that made me feel a little calmer every time I saw it.

He then held out his hand and said, "Let me see your phone." I reached into my pocket, grabbed and unlocked my phone, then handed it to him. I waited patiently as he navigated through my phone. After a while, he handed it back to me as his own phone vibrated. He had put his number in my phone.

"Just in case I'm not at school and you wanna talk. Or if you ever wanna hang out or something." Once more, he smiled at me and got on his bike. Looking at me over his shoulder, he laughed and yelled "See ya tomorrow!" and pedaled down the street and disappeared  into the night.

My run in with Calum was something that I couldn't quite wrap my head around, but it made me feel good inside. I found myself smiling at the way he smiles and laughing at the way he acts so positive about everything.

As I started to walk home, I thought about Calum. I started to think about how things would be if I told him my secret. I thought about how things would be if I didn't have this stupid disease. How it would be if I was happy like Calum.

Just then, I felt a cold drop of rain hit my head. More rain started to fall and soon enough, it was pouring down on me. For a moment I just stood there, soaking in he coldness of the rain. I let the drops cover my body as I became drenched with water. Rain was one of the things that could truly make me happy. There was some sort of calmness that it provided me with. I could relate to the rain a lot. The way that people don't always appreciate the rain for all it does, yet it still stays to do it's job. Somehow, I feel like the sky is crying for me, trying to sympathize with me. But the problem is, the sky in inanimate. It doesn't have any feeling or emotions to share. It's just the sky.

Slowly, I continued walking while enjoying the rainy weather. Other than the pitter patter of the rain in the street and the motors of a few cars passing by, the night is quiet. Everyone is in there homes next to the fire spending quality time with their families while I'm outside n the rain.

My mum and brothers soon popped into my head. I wonder if mum has already gone to bed. Knowing Ben and Jack, they've probably gone to the liquor store or to a party.

I walk up to the front porch and open the door slowly. As I walk in, I hear the faint sound of my mum's voice. She didn't seem to notice that I've entered the house, with no greeting upon the door opening. She seemed to be on the phone. Who could she be talking to at this hour?

"I just don't know what to do about this anymore..."

The rest of her words were soft and inaudible. Her voice sounded tired and quiet. I chose to ignore the whole thing and avoid confrontation with my mother.

I go to my upstairs room and quietly shut the door, making just enough of a sound to let Mum know I was home safe. I remove the wet clothes from my tired body and put on a clean t-shirt with some lose shorts. For a while I lay on my back and played the night over in my head. I think about what happened at dinner and how upset Mum was when I walked out. I thought about how I bumped into Calum in the moment of crying. How he made me feel better even though he didn't even know me.

As I think these things, I hear a small knock on my door. I assume that it's my mother, so I shut my eyes and relax my body, pretending to be asleep.

She opened the door and I suppose she gave in to my theatrics. With a deep sigh, she stands in the doorway for a few moments before quietly shutting the door.

For the rest of the night, I lie awake just staring at the night sky. I look at the stars and wish that my life could be different. I wish I could be normal.

AN/Longest chapter so far. Sorry it took so long to update but I've been really busy with school work.

This chapter is dedicated to JodyRohall because she's my best friend and I don't know what I would do without her. Love you Jody Patody :-)
