                                                                        Chapter 5

My old friend Severus Snape stood in the doorway. As always he was dressed in a black robe looking down his crooked nose on everyone, the few exceptions was Lily and I. In Sev's fourth year I befriended him along with Lily and through them I met the Marauders.

He graced me a small smile and a ghost of happiness, but it was gone in the next second. I could feel everyones suprise at me being that warmly welcomed. I'm sure they had never seen Sev smile before, even when he was young it was a rare sight to see.

"Sev it's good to see you." I exclaimed.

Sev seemed pained to hear the nickname Lily gave him but, he did not correct me. "It's good to see you too."

He did not hug me as he once would have when Lily was still alive, but simply walked a little closer and gave me another ghost of a smile.

I turned towards the kitchen and his inhabitants once more to see them staring at me as though I had grown another head.

"He and I are old friends get over it," I snapped tired of being stared at. The only one who was not suprised at Sev's welcome was Sirius. The other Marauders and him knew better than to pick fights with Severus when I was around, I did not allow it.

Slowly everyone came back to their wits but the first one to ask a question was one of the twins, I'm not sure which, "How do you know Proffessor Snape?"

"I met him when he was in his fourth year, along with Lily, James, Sirius, Remus and Pettigrew."

I was the only one who noticed the pain in Sev's eyes at the mention of his firstand only love, Lily.

Harry was the next to question me, "You knew my mother too?"

"Yes, but that is a story for later."

They let it drop and continued with the dinner. I stood uncomfortbly in the corner having no idea what to do in social situations. I had always been akward around people in general and this many people in one place made me held me on edge and I was ready to bolt. Everywhere I looked was laughs and fun I had spent so many years watching from the sidelines I forgot how to have fun.

"Nearly time for bed," Mrs. Weasly said as dinner was finished.

"Not just yet Molly," said Sirius. "You now I'm suprised at you. I thought the first thing you would ask about would be Voldemort."

The atmosphere in the room quickly changed to alert and tense at the sound of my brothers name.

"I did," Harry said indignantly. "I asked Ron and Hermione but they said we're not alowed in the Order, so-"

"And they're quite right," said Mrs. Weasly. "You're too young."

Mrs. Weasly and Sirius went into a long debate which Remus interuppted and settled it with Harry able to ask questions.

Loosing intrest I decided to go for a walk in the moonlight and headed for the door.

I heard my name called and looked back to see Sev following me his robe giving him the apperance of a big bat.

"Can I come with you," he drawled. Putting a blank mask over his features that I bet only I could see through.

I told him he could and we headed out the door.

Who am I? Well that's a mystery. (Harry Potter Fan-Fic)Where stories live. Discover now
