Sebastian and Chris stand there until someone opens the door. Chris's mother, Lisa, stands there with a big smile on her face. She looks at her son and to his partner. When her eyes land on him Sebastian stiffens a little. His anxiety kicks in. He gives a smile with a little laugh.
"Chris," Chris's father, Bob, says coming up behind Lisa.
"Dad," Chris says with a smile.
Sebastian feels his heart start to pound. His palms are sweating also. He wants a cigarette, but he can't get one. He promised Chris he'd quit, but he really needs one. He feels Chris squeeze his hand.
"You must be Sebastian," Bob says looking at Sebastian with a smile.
"Y-Yes Sir," Sebastian stutters a little with a small laugh.
"Don't call me Sir, Son, call me Bob," Bob says with a chuckle.
"O-Okay B-Bob."

"So, Sebastian," Lisa says, "what do you do for a living?"
Sebastian lets out a nervous laugh as he stares at his steak. Lisa had cooked a meal that could feed ten people even though there's only four. Steak, potatoes, beans, bread, and a choice of wine or water. Sebastian chose water over wine.
"I'm actually starting my job as a gym coach for the high school tomorrow."
Chris looks at him and smiles. Chris and Sebastian had both went to the school to volunteer for different things. Chris got a job at the high school for a Mythology class. In college he majored in mythology and even got a chance to become a teacher, which he took the test for three months ago. Sebastian started a professional training course last year and graduated last week.
"Oh, that's great!"
"Yeah."
"Have you always been into exercising?"
"Uh-haha-well-I think Chris might've told you-I was blind for the longest point in my life, and when I was younger, I was a little big. Of course it was baby fat and all, but I didn't know that because I couldn't see what I looked like. People used to tease me a lot. So as I got a little older, I started working out with a friend of mine. After a bit, I fell in love with it."
"What was your motivation?"
"It's stupid to say, but I was hoping if I worked out then my health would be better and then the next time I had surgery I would be able to see...because I was healthier. It didn't work though."»»»
"So, dad," Chris asks, "what do you think?"
"Chris, I think you got a keeper. He's a nice young man and I can see the two of you together." Bob says sipping on his wine. "Plus that ring looks good on his finger."
"Thank you dad. It means a lot coming from you."
"Well, Chris, you deserve it. You deserve the right partner in your life. I know I wasn't supportive of you being gay at first. Your mother was the supportive one. But eventually I got to it. I should've never been that way towards you. I was just not expecting that. I love you Christopher. I really do."
"I love you too, dad.""Bob we're getting a new son-in-law!"
He looks into the kitchen and sees Sebastian helping Chris's mother. A small smile appears on his lips as he watches his boyfriend laugh as he puts the dishes in the dishwasher.
Sebastian looks back to where Chris is. Sebastian's eyes crinkle and his smile grows wider.

"I know that ring anywhere," Lisa says looking at Sebastian's finger. It was her father's ring. She had given it to Chris when he was younger.
Sebastian looked at his finger. He blushed slightly. "Chris, he gave it to me, not long ago."
Lisa squealed a little, "A new son-in-law! Oh, this is amazing! You must tell me how and when! Bob we're getting a new son-in-law!"
Sebastian laughed at her slightly. He placed another dish into the dishwasher and looked to the living room. Seeing Chris his smile grows a little bigger. He turns back to Lisa and tells her the whole story.
