I made my way down the stairs, into the living room, as I heard the front door unlocking. I gripped the handle and halted in my step as I waited. It was my parents. They walked in and set their suitcases to their rights by the door's entrance. A smile grew on my face as I walked over and greeted them.

"How long are you guys here for?" I asked, as we walked into the kitchen.

"A few days. We had some time, but we leave Wednesday," my mom replied.

I nodded, glad they were going to be here for a bit.

"How's work been?" I asked, sitting on a stool by the island counter.

"It's been good, a lot of meetings, and just traveling," my mom said, as she opened the fridge door and looked inside, blocking me from seeing her face. "I'll go by the store and buy some groceries before we leave."

I nodded, as she closed the refrigerator door and turned to look at me.

We ended up talking about how I was doing and how school was going. It was too soon to mention Ryan. I asked them about their work trips. Everything was going good for them. My dad ended up going into their office and I continued to talk to my mom. I noticed how her hair was getting longer.

"We're going out with some colleagues for dinner. Would you like to join us?"

"I'm okay. I'll just stay here."

My mom nodded and she went upstairs to shower. I went upstairs as well and started cleaning my room. I put away some clothes I had laying on my desk chair and started clearing my bureau. In between my time spent here at my house and my time spent at Finn's, I barely spent time cleaning my room. It wasn't messy, usually. Sometimes things were just unorganized and out of their usual spot.

"Hey, hey, hey." Finn stepped through the door.

"Hey." I looked up from my bureau and walked over to give him a hug.

We pulled away and walked to the bed to sit down.

"I said 'hi' to your parents."

"Yeah. They're here 'til Wednesday. It's good," I explained. "What about your parents? What are they up to?"

"They're good. They went out of town this weekend. They're working on a pro bono case up in Sacramento."

I nodded. "So how's Grace?" I turned to him, placing my legs on the bed and crisscrossing them beneath each other.

"She's doing good. We were gonna hang out today but then her parents made her go out of town with them."

"How are you guys doing? Really." I turned to look at him, my eyes meeting his gaze.

His hazel eyes were dancing with joy. I watched as he sent another quick text and looked back to meet my eyes. He had such a sweet smile that was warm and contagious. I felt my lips growing into a small smile, joining him.

Finn and I had known each other for a decade. We had practically grown up together. We were always attached at the hip, I knew everything about him. I had seen him through his high and lows. His best experiences were also mine, but so were some of his worst times. All the heartache he had, I felt it too. All the laughs, we shared them together.

After everything, I know that Grace is good for him and is truly making him happy. It's evident in the way his face lights up at the mere mention of her name.

"We're doing good. Like really good." There was no fighting his smile. "Grace is amazing. She's one of the best girls I've ever met. She's so 'go with the flow' type of person. And she doesn't care one bit that you're my best friend." He threw himself back on the bed. "Rox, she's such a beautiful person. She makes me feel amazing and there are butterflies every time I see her. I honestly think I'm falling in love with her."
