The Forgotten and Unloved

Chapter Two

Early in the morning of July 1st, a pecking noise woke up a red-haired girl with curls that looked like a hurricane went through her hair. The girl opened her door sleepily to discover an owl with a letter tied to its leg. The girl took the letter and opened it as the owl flew up, satisfied with it's delivery.

On the front of the letter it said,

Ms. Maria Weasley
The closet on the third floor
The Burrow
Ottery St. Catchpole

Orchid Maria Weasley opened her letter excitedly, fully awake now.

Dear Ms. Weasley,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Pleased find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on September 1st. We await your owl no later than July 31st.

Minerva McGonagall

P.S. You will also find enclosed a pouch of money for everything you will need.

Orchid squealed in delight, she was going to Hogwarts! She was so excited that she almost set fire to her letter, that would've been bad. Orchid realized that they knew her predicament with money, she didn't have any. She was delighted that they had given her some money to use. Orchid was so exited that she raced down the stairs outside towards her broom, hopped on, and began to fly. She was an excellent flyer, but she didn't think that.

What Orchid didn't know, was that someone inside had heard her squeal and watched as the young redhead raced outside towards the shed and started flying.

After a few minutes of riding on her broom, Orchid ran inside to see when they were going to Diagon Alley.

"Oh yes! We'll go to Diagon Alley tomorrow to get everyone's things, Ron. I'm so proud of you." Orchid heard Mrs. Weasley gush to Ron, his facial expression was of embarrassment, but Orchid knew he should have been thankful for being noticed and remembered.

Orchid ran upstairs to send a letter to Bill and Charlie knowing full well they would want to know about her letter and that they would figure something out to take her to Diagon Alley.

Orchid got her response sooner than she expected from both Bill and Charlie. They they said that they had worked it out from Charlie apparating to Bill after working with the dragons in Romania, and both Charlie and Bill were taking her for her supplies the same day Ron and the rest of Weasley's would go shopping.
