After Orchid boarded the crimson train, she immediately went to find an empty compartment. Not just because she wanted to avoid people (which she most certainly wanted to do) but so she could have some peace and quite.
Orchid soon found an empty compartment at the back of the train as she weaved through all of the students. She opened the compartment and immediately put her luggage on the rack above the seats.
As soon Orchid pulled out a book to read, the train started to moved and pulled forwards, causing her to fall back on to the seat and hit her head.
"Stupid train an the hard walls." She said.
"I'm sure there's a spell for that." Orchid heard a voice say to her left.
Orchid looked over with her hand rubbing her head to see a boy not much older than herself standing in the doorway of the compartment. He had pale blonde hair that was gelled down and wore what seemed to be expensive clothing.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Would you like to come in?" Orchid offered to the pale blond haired kid while she motioned to the seat in front of her.
"Don't mind if I do." The boy said as he walked in to sit down. But as he went to sit, he tripped over and almost hit the ground before Orchid jumped up and caught him by the back of his shirt.
The boy stood up and straightened his jacket and smoothed his hair back. "Thank you." He said, embarrassed.
"I guess some people can be a be a but clumsy like me. Hello, I'm Orchid. It's nice to meet you." She said offering out her hand.
The boy shook her hand and said, "I'm Draco Malfoy."
"That's an odd name, but it's really nice." Orchid said as she giggled.
Draco ignored the comment, "I'm assuming you're a first year. So what house are you hoping to be in? I'm for sure going into Slytherin."
"Uh, my older brothers think I'll be in Gryffindor like the rest of my family, but I think I'll be a Slytherin or a Hufflepuff." Orchid told him thoughtfully.
"Why Slytherin and Hufflepuff?" Draco asked with a hint of malice in his voice with the word 'hufflepuff'.
"Personally, I'm not all that brave, but I do consider myself to be quite ambitious and caring. But it's up to the Sorting Hat."
"Well Hufflepuff is the pushover house, and Gryffindor is full of pompous primps." Draco said curtly.
"I'm sorry, but you just insulted my entire family from generations back." Orchid said defensively.
"I should have seen it sooner. Red hair, hand-me-down clothes; you must be a Weasley." Draco said as he got up to leave.
"I'm sorry," Orchid said as he opened the compartment door. "What's so bad about the Weasley family? Or Gryffindor's for that matter?"
"The Weasley's are blood traitors and Gryffindor is full of mudbloods." He said before walking out.
Orchid sat there in hatred and awe of what the boy had said. He had judged people without meeting them personally and had called her family blood traitors. Orchid would not let it go unpunished.
