The Forgotten and Unloved

Chapter Six

After the encounter at Quality Quidditch Supplies, the Weasley family seemed to notice Orchid more often. She had been talked to by most of her other brothers, pranked by Fred and George, and Molly had told Orchid that she needed to eat more and actually made her a plate of food.

Orchid had even been moved into Ginny's room and took up one side of the room. Ginny wasn't particularly happy with the arrangements, but she did like that Orchid had let her fly her new broom and even gave Ginny her old broom.

As September came ever closer, Orchid felt excited about the upcoming year. Maybe she would make some friends and prank a few people.

In August, the twins had noticed Orchid's mischievous nature and allowed her to prank Percy with them. The result being a very wet Percy and stern talking to the twins by their mother about corrupting their younger sister.

Orchid had never felt happier and she had certainly never been this close with her family. It was as if he were dreaming, but she had frequently pinched herself and never woke up.

Orchid woke up on September first in a good mood. After she had gotten dressed, she discovered that Ron hadn't waken up yet. She went into Ron's room to discover him snoring away.

Orchid crept up to the side of his bed and went close to his ear. And in a perfect mimic of their mother voice she yelled, "Ronald Weasley! Wake up or you will be late for you first say back!"

Ron woke up in a panic and fell off of his bed. Orchid backed away laughing and said in her mother's voice once more, "If you're late we won't send you later!"

Orchid ran out of the room laughing and went down stair to get breakfast. "Is Ronald awake?" Molly asked as she put food on her eldest daughter's plate.

"Yup, wide-eyed and bushy tailed." Orchid said to her mother as she began stuffing her face with bacon.

"That's good, and are you packed?" Molly asked.

"Yes, mum  I finished last night." Orchid said after she swallowed her eggs. "I'm gonna go and fly my broom for a bit outside now."

"Just don't go too high, you know the muggle can see you if you fly over the tree. And only for ten minutes!" Molly called out as Orchid went outside to retrieve her broom from the shed.

As Orchid took we broom out of the shed and mounted it. She went oh her and higher into the air. She did loops and spins and even stood on top of her broom while it flew.

She knew it was dangerous, but that's what she over for. The houses she was hoping for the most were either Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. But the entire Weasley family so far was sorted into Gryffindor, so she assumed it was a given to be sorted into the house of the lion.

The ten minutes flew by as Orchid heard her mother calling for her to come inside so the could leave.

"Are we apparating again, mum?" Orchid heard Ginny ask as all of the older Weasley children in the house pulled their luggage downstairs.

"Yes, now go upstairs and tell Ron to hurry up." Molly said. 

As soon as the seven were at the station with the older Weasley children's luggage on carts, they set out to platform nine and three quarters.

"Every year this place is packed with muggles, hurry along Ginny we need to get to platform nine and three quarters." Molly said absentmindedly.

When the seven reached the wall leading to the train, Orchid watched as Fred and George ran through the wall. Suddenly a boy with messy jet black hair and glasses walked up to Molly and asked if she could tell him how to get to the platform.

"Is it your first time to Hogwarts, dear? It's Maria and Ron's first time as well." Moly said pointing to the second set of twin's.

"All you have to do is go straight through that wall. It setter if you get a bit of a running start though." Molly told him as the boy listened.

Once the boy made it throhgh, it was Orchid's turn next. As she ran towards the wall, she closed her eyes as she was afraid she would make impact.

When she didn't make impact, Orchid opened her  eyes to see a scarlet red train and a large mass of adults, teenagers, and children standing in the platform.

Once the other Weasley's made their way through the wall, Orchid bid them goodbye an started to make way towards he train when she was called back by her mother.

"What are you doing without a hug for you mother?" Molly said as she pulled her daughter into a bone crushing hug.

It we the first hug Orchid had ever received from her mother in her memory. She returned the hug to her mother and then told Ginny not to worry and that she would see her sister for Christmas.

Orchid then boarded the train with a smile on her face and excitement in her heart. She was ready for her first year to Hogwarts.
