Chapter Six: Coffee and Wonders

CHAPTER SIX: COFFEE AND WONDERS

Emily's POV

...as the kiss is getting heated, I hear the creek of my front door...

I feel Ashton tensing up because he turns around and backs up as soon as my brother steps out of the house. Before my brother can wonder his eyes around the surrounding area, I grab Ashton's hand and pull him to a nearby bush in my front yard were we hid, so my brother can't see us.

"That was a close one there!" I tell him

"Yeah, we need to be more carefull. Now, where were we?" He asks with his signature smirk showing off his pair of dimples and leaning in.

"Back up there! I have to go" as I say that, I stand up, checking that brother is nowhere to be seen, I rush back into my house before he can catch me, and shut the door close.

When I get inside a pair of eyes are fixed on me and there are my brother's. My brother is the best brother ever, but he is very overprotective, as he is four years older than me he thinks he has the authority to 'rule' over me. I soon as I attempt to walk upstairs, my brother bombards me with questions, but very subtle like.

"How was your date?" He questions.

Hot, cute, hot. My inner self tells me.

"Good"

"How was Ashton?"

"Good"

"Is that all you can say?"

"Jordan, I know you may think of Ashton in a bad way, and I really don't know why, but I can tell you he is a nice guy. I'm giving him a chance, and so should you" I attempted to stop his pondering.

"Okay, little sis, if you say so. I am just trying to protect what is mine and of course you probably just like him because of his looks!"

Ouch.

"Let me tell you something- ugh, who am I kindling, I'm not going to waist my words on questions, I don't even want to answer" I responded keeping my sanity and not loosing it, towards my brother's terrible attempt at pisssing me off. With that said I run upstairs and shut me bedroom door close.

The next morning I wake up very tired and it all comes to me, last night... Almost getting caught by my brother, then him getting all jealous about me going out with Ashton.

My brother can be so childish yet so overprotective.

Ugh.

I stand up from bed and think, yay! It's Saturday. My cousin promised my best friend and I that he would take us touring the city. I finally get to see something after weeks of been in this hell hole.

That day was kind of chilly outside so i wore a knitted sweater that covered 'till the middle of my thighs that was the most beautiful rose color, underneath that I put on a pair of black leggings with my nude flats. I slightly curled my hair and put on some mascara and headed out the door.

"Come on! Alex is waiting for us outside!!" I tried to make Chloe, a.k.a the slowest person at getting dressed, hurry up.

"I'm almost done, just a little more gloss, and perfection...!"

"Finally" I say dragging her across the living room to the door.

"Where is he?" I utter under my breath but I guess Chloe herd me and blurted out "Right there!"

...

After we got into the car and said our hello's, Alex jumps in and says "Are you girls hungry?"

"Uh yeah, we just woke up kind of" I reply

"Chloe do you like Starbucks?" Alex questions my friend leaving me out of the conversation completely.

"Yeah! I love their caramel mochiatto"

"Perfect! Then, what are we waiting for" he answered Chloe

"Actually you, because you are the one driving us, remember?" I bark back

I snap my fingers at him, and for some reason he doesn't respond, he just keeps staring at Chloe, weird... A few seconds later he says "um... Yeah, let's go"

When we arrive at Starbucks and order our coffees we sit in a little booth not too far a away from the door. "Are you liking the city so far Emily?" My cousins snaps me back to reality as I find myself daydreaming about Ashton again. Oh God! What's wrong with me!!!

"Pretty nice, but I have barely seen any of it though" I state.

"Well, that is what I am here for, your tour guide!" He said overly excited

" Ok Alex, I know you, and you are totally acting different" I wonder I out loud

"No I am not, why would you think that?"

"First of all, you are been nice with me and second of all you are giving me a tour of the city" I say

"Us" I hear Chloe say, oops, I forgot Chloe was with Alex and me. Ohh now everything falls into place.

"Sorry, us?" I say again

"Well, uh I- who- wouldn't want to spend some time with you girls, plus I am always nice to you Emily!" He studers, which he never does. Ok, weird.

"If you say so, can we get going now?" I persist, I wonder what is going on in his brain.

"Yes, let's get going, I have an idea on where to take you first!" He says that all perky before we leave the coffee shop.
