She shuffled towards the door. In that instant, she could not understand, but at the same time, she understood completely.
The door of the jewelry shop snapped shut, exposing herself to the cool autumn breeze. She pulled the coat around herself, shivering slightly, for she didn't like the cold. It was like the unexpected, just as unwelcome and alien to her.
Her mind was elsewhere, because all she could think of right now was the tattoo that was on his shoulder.
It seemed that things were starting to become complicated.
Although she understood that things could not stay the same, she could not figure out why only now that things were starting to change from its usual course.
Her mind recalled the last sentence that her dad told her before she never saw him again, in person.
If you see this symbol, anywhere, know that you must do what is necessary.
He drew the same symbol on a small piece of paper. After a few moments, he threw it into the fire, where it disintegrated into ashes.
Now, everything seemed to fit into place. Perhaps a little too perfectly.
She would now be waiting for a text message, that would guide her on her next course of action.
In her hand, was a small paper bag containing a small brooch that she had just bought for her mother. She made a mental note to remember to pay her respects later.
Who knew, going to a random shop on particularly normal day could lead her to one of her most anticipated yet dreadful day of her life.
She definitely didn't think of it. Not in a million years.
She reached the carpark, and got into her blue Chevy. Horizon blue, to be exact. It was a car that she had got for her graduation present. Not too shabby.
She didn't have many prized possessions, but the one that she valued the most was a locket that she wore around her neck.
It held a photograph of her sister, of course, but she had never revealed it to anyone.
She began driving towards her school, Harvard. She stepped on the gas, suddenly realizing that she had to make it back before curfew.
It was depressing that she had to remain on campus during break because she had to catch up with her work.
When she had parked just a few blocks away from her dormitory, her pocket buzzed. Was it...?
She fished it out and squinted at the small screen.
The text was short and simple.
Kate. Tomorrow night, 8:30. Be at the club at Jefferson Road. Try not to get into trouble. Remember our agreement.

That's it for prologue. Short and simple :)
It is related to the previous book a little but it would be a new story starting from chapter 1.
Please comment so that I caN make improvements to it.
