Sameer
We all guys are sitting on the bed with Sid's laptop, staring in the screen. We are checking the video we recorded a while ago.
"Yeah, we did really well this time," says Jake.
"When do we not?" Aryan smirks.
Suddenly I spot something in the video that clicks my insides. My brain sinks into search in the depths of my memory.
"Hey hey, wait! Pause!" I stare the screen with narrow eyes.
"What happened?" asks Jacob.
"You see that- that-" I begin, but am cut off by Siddharth.
"Hey, she's the girl whom I accidentally bumped into while bringing breakfast," he muses.
He bumped into that girl, the one who I saw on the deck, but isn't that that girl? I mean, wait, that pretty girl on the upper deck. The stupid-funny girl in the airplane. They are the same. Oh my shit Lord.
Wait. Nah. Yeah no, let me closely see.
I zoom in the paused video and take a closer look at the girl's face. Now I'm sure as hell that the beautiful girl on the deck is that same Airplane girl. Now well, Oh my shit Lord.
"Boy, boy, wait. Isn't that the chick, the hottie on the deck?" Aryan peeked his head between my face and the screen.
"She is."
"Ah, so that's the one Aryan is going crazy about, huh? Not bad," Sid gives Aryan a shoulder punch.
"So now I'm gonna find her and talk to her, how's it?" He asks with the typical Aryano-smirk, leaning back with his hands behind his head.
"No," I speak up.
"Hell, man! Why?" He looks at me with an expression that shows a mixture of disdain, madness and curiosity. "You didn't let me go to her then also."
"Why do you want to talk to her? You just want another girl to flirt with." I say, annoyed.
"So, why do you care?" He raises an eyebrow at me. "Don't we talk to people if we want to be friends with them? Remember, if we hadn't ever talked, we wouldn't be these friends that we are."
I roll my eyes at his childish explanation.
"I think you should leave that girl alone," I say calmly.
"Well, I don't need advice. Thank you though."
Ughh.
"Why do you not want me to talk to her? Give me a valid reason," he looks at me seriously. Dude, was it such big of a deal?
"We can enjoy by ourselves - and - I saw her first."
"Aghhh!!! Did you hear that, guys?" He turns to look at the others. Then he turns back to me, "You wanna talk to her? Go talk to her. Why stopping me?" He bursts out.
"Okay okay shush. Go do whatever you want." I sigh and give up. Because even I don't know why I don't want him to flirt with her.
Maybe because I want her to myself.
Oh shut up.
I mean at least to myself among all of us boys, right?
Hmm.
Nah.
I want my group to stay away from her. This is weird.

The sun has set, and we've spent the day playing cards. Yeah Titanic. We uploaded the video in the afternoon (with that girl in it) on YouTube, which has already earned a few comments.
Right now we are leaning on the metal railing on the lower deck, chilling the evening, sipping on our drinks. The cruise, Hermosa, is elegantly lighted and crowded by a cheerful and chirruping public. Sprays of tiny droplets from the sea gently touch our skin.
"It's so much fun to chill out like this," Sid says.
I am humming a tune and Jake starts tapping his fingers on the warm metal, giving the beat. Yeah, it is January and it's hot here.
I smile at him.
"What are you thinking, Sam?" He asks me.
"I'm thinking about the future. Getting a perfect job and completely ditching it for the band. Our band becoming terribly famous and all the teen girls going crazy squealing 'The Highs, oh my god!' Haha," my smile grows wider.
"With your seriousness for the band, I'm sure the future is not far away," he chuckles.
"I'm thinking about my future too," Aryan peeks in, "about becoming the famous guitarist of The Highs that all girls are mad for, and then getting a hot chick for me."
I and Sid roll our eyes.
"I'm with you, man," Jake says. "With your seriousness for the girls, I'm sure the future is not far away."
We burst out into laughter.
"Yeah," he smirks, "I see the future right in front of my eyes." He gazes forward. Our eyes follow his and I see that girl standing at a distance.
