September 25, 2016, Clash of Champions
Our first RAW-exclusive PPV, Clash of Champions is underway. The main event, as you know, is Chris Jericho vs. myself for the Universal Championship. Hoping that there is no interference from his buddy, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, or anyone else. I want to show the fans that a heel champion CAN win cleanly. However, the problem is that I'm assuming the fans don't want to boo me or Jericho in this match, even though we're both heels. Boy, was I wrong.
After 10 minutes of back and forth action, Jericho sends me to the outside. The crowd in Indianapolis is solidly behind him in this match. He does his "Gift of Jericho" schtick while I'm struggling to make it back into the ring. Eventually, I make it back into the ring. Jericho and I trade shots back and forth, with the crowd popping every time Jericho hits me and boos every time I hit Jericho. Now I know how Roman feels. It's better for me because the crowd is SUPPOSED to hate me now that I sided with HHH, who was responsible for taking me out 5 months ago, along with Seth Rollins. Jericho catches my foot as I try to kick him in the gut, and I counter with an Enziguri using my other leg, sending him towards the ropes. Jericho is groggy and gets tied up in the ropes. The match is no disqualification, so I grab a chair from the outside to make things interesting. I get back in the ring and proceed to whack Jericho with the chair, but he kicks the chair away even though he is tied up. I grab him by his legs, and go for a devastating low blow. He eventually becomes free from being tied up.
He hits me downstairs with a low blow, then rises to his feet to hit me with a Codebreaker. I fall to the mat, and Jericho goes for the cover. I kick out, obviously.
"You were supposed to count to 3, you stupid idiot!!!" Jericho yells to the ref. The ref argues with Jericho, which results in the ref being pushed down. What Jericho doesn't know that I have picked up the chair and I successfully nail him with the chair. I pick him up and drive him into the mat with the Dangerous Driver (I wanted to change the name of it). Since the referee is knocked down (they sell pushes like crazy), RAW GM Mick Foley sends another referee to count the pin.
I successfully retain the Universal Championship, without the help of Triple H. Many expected him to show up at some point in the match, but he was nowhere to be found. A champion of my caliber doesn't need help from anyone. I can get the job done by myself. I think Trips definitely understands that.
As Universal Champion, I continue my path of destruction.
