I followed Micah to a kitchen on our floor, where he opened a fridge that had a lock on it and took out two frozen pizzas.
He turned to me and proudly pointed at the mini-fridge: "My personal fridge. You're lucky to be my roommate, because I have the best food on this floor!"
I laughed and he winked, then he put the pizzas in the oven and turned it on.
When the pizza was ready we took it to our room and Micah suddenly opened his wardrobe. I frowned, but then I noticed the small TV in it and my eyes widened. Usually students here were not allowed to have one in their room, there were special rooms on some floors for that.
"Told you you were lucky", Micah grinned again.
"Isn't that forbidden?"
Micah shrugged: "Who cares. But if you'd rather share the TV with twenty or more people who only watch stupid casting shows, go ahead."
I quickly shook my head. He sat down on his bed and signaled me to sit next to him, which I hesitantly did.
Then he turned on the TV and ate the first slice of pizza. After the first bite he suddenly closed his eyes and moaned.
I stared at him and then burst out laughing, I could not help it.
He looked at me confused, which only made me laugh more.
"What?I love food!", he said defensively and when I still did not stop laughing, he pouted: "I already hate you."
Suddenly the door opened and a hispanic girl stormed in. She had long, curly black hair and seemed to be really pissed: "Micah, why did you leave me with that guy, again?!"
Then she noticed me and frowned at Micah: "To get a new one? Seriously?!"
"Amara", he interrupted her calmly: "This is my roommate, Loui."
"Oh!"
Her angry face turned into a smile: "Hi Loui, I'm Amara. Sorry about this, but your roommate is an asshole!"
She gave Micah another I-will-kill-you-look and he just shrugged: "I'm sorry."
"Yousay that every time", she deadpanned and I started feeling uncomfortable sitting between them.
"Um, I'll look for my friend", I said and wanted to stand up, but Micah grabbed my hand: "No, stay."
I sat back down, still unsure if I should really be in here when they were fighting.
Amara did not seem to mind, though and continued: "Micah, you can't just stay for the fun part and then leave me to deal with everything!"
"But you're better at dealing with everything", Micah said, while he took another bite from his pizza.
Amara scoffed and crossed her arms: "If you're not there when I wake up after the next time, it'll be the last time!"
Now Micah finally looked away from the TV and said: "Hey, wait! Okay, I'm sorry. I promise I'm staying next time!"
Amaras face softened a bit: "I hope so. Well, um, anyway ... you're new here, Loui?"
I nodded, surprised by the sudden change of her mood.
"So, do you have a girlfriend? Or boyfriend?", she asked bluntly.
Micah chuckled quietly and I blushed for some reason: "No."
I thought maybe they did not notice how my cheeks turned red, but Amara did and smiled at Micah: "He's cute!"
Micah just laughed and I blushed even more, suddenly wishing they would go back to fighting again.
