"Well that's great news." I comment and flop onto the big bed with a thump. Leila nods sarcastically at me, "I know." She drawls out the 'w' and sits down on the end of my bed.

"Hey! Have you got that book still?" I ask and she looks at me curiously,

"What book?" She asks.

"The one you used to learn about the guardian stuff." I answer and take another oreo out of the packet.

"Oh that one." She drifts off.

"How many books do you have?" I ask and bite into the biscuit.

"Well, they aren't mine, technically. They are Silveri's, he owns a library in this house. I just borrowed it." Se says and I make an 'o' shape with my mouth.

"Right.... Well, do you still have it?" I ask and she replies with a nod.

"It is in my room, which is on the other side of the house." she states with a grimace, "And I couldn't get there and back without a confrontation with someone." I make another 'o' with my mouth.

"Well.. could I get it? With like magic or something?" I ask awkwardly and she smiles kindly at me.

"Nah, you could though, but spell's that are simple and aren't for defense are more reliable with wands. We can get you one tomorrow, k?" Leila explains and I nod, "Mhm."

The streets of Espaindo bustled with noise - It was Christmas in exactly four months so everyone was shopping already - as me and Leila struggled to keep contact by holding hands. I could feel our grip loosening by the second so I made a split decision to let go, I would find her later, and we had a link.

What?! Why?!? LYKRA!?! Leila's voice shouts in my head and I cringe, Shhhh, I just let go. We'll find each other later. Bye Leila! I think back, knowing she can hear then cut off our link. We had been practising things on the link all of last night. I could accept her into my mind, speak back to her, let her access certain things as in memories or see through my eyes, and I could cut her off completely.

I swept my coat close to me and shivered as I walked cautiously down an alley to the flickering lights of a shop labelled, "Levi's Magick." with a subtitle that was blurring off and unrecognisable from years of wear and weather. I entered the wand shop hurriedly and felt immediately comfortable and warm. The buildings grubby outside was horrible compared to the warm rich home feel of the inside. The ceiling was tall and in the middle of the room was an open fire with a few moving fireguards around it. The fireguards were little soldiers with shields. Whenever a spark or ember came out, a little soldier would slam it right back in with his shield. I laughed as one went into a squeaking frenzy as he missed an ember. Around the fire a few leather couches were littered in a circle. The smell of hot cocoa and a pumpkin scented candle was floating around the room, matching the Autumn season perfectly. I stared around amazed at the shop that made me feel scared and nervous outside. Probably to keep strangers from real magic away, I thought.

"Oh! Dear! You must be freezing, come in, come in! Here!" An old woman that looked about in her sixties in a red coat came whooshing out and gestured her hands wildly then led me onto a sofa near the fire, "Cocoa, dear?" She asks and I gladly accept the drink but not before sniffing the liquid for any trace of poison. I take a sip. Excellent-Nothing. I thank the old woman graciously.

"I sense your magic aurora, dear. Are you here for a wand?" She speaks up and takes a seat next to me. I nod at her and she steps up from her seat and hurries over to a ladder, swinging on the wooden ladder across the room like in a library. She stops abruptly on a section of the store labeled 'Powerful Wands' and a smile tilts on my lips faintly.
