<Flashback>

 “Why are you crying? Are you lost?” I asked the girl sitting under a tree while she’s resting her head on it. I can hear her calling her mom and dad while she’s sobbing. I think, she’s really lost.

 “Umm...” she said as she nods her head simultaneously at me. I stared at her for a minute. She has a long blonde hair that matches her blue pair of beautiful round eyes. She was wearing a white knee length frilly dress and a black doll shoes.

 “I guess you really need a friend right now. Here, you can have this doll!” I said and gave her the doll that wasn’t mine at all, I stole it from a toy store and this is actually for my elder sister’s birthday. We couldn’t afford to buy a doll as expensive as this to give to her. My dad is only a wood cutter and my mom sells fruits in the city. We are not studying and my sister stays at home. “She can be your friend. She has a shoulder to cry on.” She stared at me blankly and I can tears in her eyes foretelling me that it will fall anytime and she will start crying again. She wiped her tears out with her pink embroidered handkerchief and she pushed the doll back to me.

 “I have plenty of that at home. My dad can buy me a toy store. He can buy the prettiest doll on earth and give it to me!” She stood up and crossed her arms. She even tucked her tongue out. Such a brat. I stroked my nape out of my frustration. Why is she acting at me like she’s older than me? I can that I’m older than her. But instead of pulling her hair like the other kids will do, I let out a big grin and then I snorted. “What’s with the grin? Are you making fun of me?” She pouted after.

 I walked towards her and pinched her nose and then I laughed. “Don’t be so angry, you will have lines here” I said as I traced the lines on her forehead. She pushed my hand away, “You must be rich.. But I know that this isn’t the prettiest doll your dad will give you, but this doll can be your best friend.” I smile at her.

 “Okay. You insist” she said and gets the doll from me. She hugged the doll to her chest and holds it tighter. She looks and pointed her finger at me. “You already gave this doll to me. Don’t take it away from me, okay?” I nodded. She sat down on the shed of the tree again; I sat down to her side and watched her playing the toy.

 “Why are you crying? You haven’t answered my question” she turns her head back to me. She smiled a little and pointed her finger at me, “Why are you always pointing your finger at me like I did something wrong?”

 “Because… because you’re funny!” And she began to laugh. She threw her head back laughing like there’s no tomorrow.

“Stop acting like a fool. It’s evident that you’re sad.” She stopped laughing as she heard what I’ve said.

 “I’m just a kid, you know that?! And stop acting like you know everything!” She said and threw the doll at my face and she started crying again. Again, I caressed my nape and clenched my jaw.

 “Hey it’s gonna be okay.”

 “Yeah because it’s not happening to you.” She said and covered her face with her two hands. I stood up and held her.

 “Struggling is pointless.” She was struggling at first but finally she did what I said. I looked at her and she looks like a little conscious. Me either.

 “What?” With the tone of her voice, I can tell that she’s already bored of what am I doing. I smiled at her.

 “Let’s go where they can’t find us forever.” At first, I thought I was a little off but when she started laughing, I can’t help but to join her. This is the first time to laugh like this that my stomach started to hurt.
