Chapter 1

>Danny’s POV<

It had been a month since the kid came to my pack. I had found out that his name was Cruz, I didn’t think that his name suited him, but whatever. He was settling in well, which I was glad for, but none of us really trusted him. The kid was staying in my house, in one of the spare rooms, taking up the werefoxes’ second room, making all the boys stay in one room. They said that they didn’t mind, but my mom still got them a second bed for that room.

We put the boy under war wolf watch, which he didn’t seem to mind, if anything he enjoyed it.

I was laying in my bed with Ryan laying across my stomach. I let out a little rumble that vibrated through my stomach. Ryan smiled and rolled so that he was looking at me.

“What are you doing?”

“Obviously rumbling,” I smiled down at him.

“Well don’t, Mr. Grumbles,” I laughed and rumbled some more.

“I’ll stop when I want too,” Ryan was laughing a bit.

“Mr. Grumbles! Stop grumbling!” He whined and started to tickle me. Laughing I grabbed him and rolled him under me. He looked up at me with his big puppy dog eyes, giving him a smile I leaned down and kissed him on the lips gently.

“I stopped grumbling, happy?” Ryan smiled and nodded his head, tracing a finger down my chest. Ryan frowned a little bit while he drew a circle on my chest. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” his answer was short and clipped, I knew him well enough now that I could tell when something was wrong.

“What’s wrong?” I asked again as I rolled the two of us over to are sides.

“Its nothing.”

“Tell me babe,” I let out a little whimper. “I hate seeing my little pup all sad.”

“I’m home sick,” he looked up at me with sad eyes. “I know that its stupid, and yes they kicked me out, but I still miss them both.”

“I know, I’d be the same way if I were you,” he gave me a sad smile and snuggled into my chest. I wrapped my arms around him and rubbed his back gently. I listened to his soft breathing as it got slower and more rested. I leaned back a little to hear his soft snoring. I gave him a small kiss on the forehead and tucked him in. I got up slowly and looked at his sleeping form on my bed. He looked so peaceful, I started a bad habit were I’d watch him sleep for a while, and then before I knew it, he would be awake and looking at me with a weirded out look.

Before I got into the first twenty minutes, I turned away and started down the stairs to my kitchen. Zach was sitting there looking off into space, hoping to scare him I snuck around behind him.

“I can see and smell you, ya know,” he said unimpressed.

“I was just going to the fridge,” he made a noise that showed his believe in what I said. “Its true.” I opened the fridge and grabbed a pop, then put the cold metal against his neck. “See?” He jumped and smacked my hand away.

“Don’t do that!” He looked back at me with a slight snarl.

“What’s wrong with you?”

“Nothing,” I could hear his phone vibrate in his pocket, he made no move to answer it.

“You going to reply to that text?”

“No,” he glared up at me, then down at the vibrating phone.

“Are you mad at Kevin?”

“Danny, I know that you’re the soon to be alpha around here, but don’t try to command me around, when I don’t want to talk, I won’t talk.”
