6 months later
Natsu sat restlessly on the sofa by the front door of their new house, that the guild made as a congratulations present. Why is he restless you ask, well Lucy is 10 minutes late.
Ever since Lucy got pregnant, he has gotten way to over protective of her.
Natsu has to know where she is at all times and when she is out he has to know the exact time she will be back. When at home she is not allowed to do any chores or anything that could hurt the baby. In short that means she is not allowed to move from the chair or bed unsupervised.
Even when she goes out he makes sure that at least one person is watching over her because it's not like he can control everything Lucy does (sarcasm).
When Natsu hears the tiny jingle of keys outside the house, he keeps from the chair, sprints towards the newly made door and opened it.
"Natsu, I can open a door myself."
"Yeah I know that but you could hurt yourself or the baby."
Lucy stressfully huffed and walked through the door and into the living room, with Natsu carefully eyeing her ever step.
As soon as Lucy sat down, Natsu went to work on trying to make her feel comfortable. First he wrapped a blanket around her, second gave her a really fluffy pillow and then placed her feet on a tiny foot rest. Yes this all seems amazing, but when it happens every single day for the past 6 months, it gets very annoying.
"Do you need anything, like water, tea, coffee. Wait not coffee, that's bad for the baby. But ask away." Natsu will do literally do anything for Lucy, apart from leaving her alone.
Yeah she loves Natsu but he's driving her crazy.
"I'm fine Natsu. But I think we need to start discussing the baby." Hinted Lucy.
"What about the baby?" Natsu questioned.
"Well stuff like names and buying clothes and what will we do when I go into Labour. Stuff like that." Lucy finished.
"Oh ok" Natsu slipped onto the sofa next to Lucy and gently pulled her to lie on his lap as he played with her hair.
"Well what names do you like?" He asked.
"Well if it's a boy with your hair how about igneel." Lucy looked up to a smiling Natsu.
"I love it. And if it's a boy with your hair how about Luna. Because you know stars and stuff." Natsu added.
"I like that. Um what about if it's a girl?" Lucy asked.
"Hmmm. What about for a blonde uhh Astrid?"Hummed Natsu.
Yeah and if she has pinky hair like you, how about umm Nashi?"
"One my hair is salmon and two I love the name."
"So they are the names. Nashi and Astrid if it's a girl." Started Lucy
"And if it's a boy, Luna and Igneel." Natsu finished.
Lucy smiled looking up at Natsu who is still playing with the silky blonde locks.
They sat like that till Lucy started to fall asleep. When Natsu noticed, hi slowly stood up and carefully carried Lucy bridle style up to their new room, which still smelled like fresh paint.
Gently he placed Lucy into the queen sized bed, pulled the cover over her and then got into the other side.
Once in the bed he softly pulled into his warm embrace and placed his hands on her stomach a slowly warmed his hands to soothe Lucy and the baby.
When Natsu woke up, he saw Lucy at the edge of the bed crying.
"Luce what's wrong?" He said sleepily while sitting up.
"W-what if I-I am a really bad mum and t-the baby hates me for it's whole l-life?" Lucy wailed Lucy.
"What no. No. no. Lucy why would you think that? Come one your going to be an amazing mum." He Reassured.
"How do you know?"
"How do I know? Luce your the most sweetest and kindest soul I've ever met. Your going to spoil this kid rotten. And even so, we are partners. We are a family. We will get through this together."
"Really?" She looks up into Natsus eye, it was if she was looking to see, if he was lying to her.
"Of course. I would never let you go through this alone. Never ever!"
"Thanks Natsu."
"Your welcome."
"Just wondering, did you know that was one of my mood swings?"
"Yeah." He said with a smile.
"Natsu?"
"Hmm"
"I love you."
"I love you too!"
After their adorable moment, they headed off to the guild, where Lucy will get swarmed by people asking questions about the baby.
(Just saying I'm making it so that baby scans don't exist in this so they will only find out the gender and other stuff like that on the day it arrives! Well hope you are enjoying the story).
