Today, I'm the first one awake and ready. I've been keeping track on Inanimatum for a while now. I sit on my couch and watch the News.
"Police are attempting to keep this under control, but there are too many of the Infected." The reporter says. Looks like we've come up with a name for them. How unoriginal. "It is out of control. It is spreading rapidly, and every continent has Infected. It is only a matter of time until it's too late."
"Good morning Kevin." My mum greats me as she walks into the room. I quickly turn the T.V off and turn to face her.
"Morning mum." I reply. "Should I stay home today?" I ask steadily, with a strong fear finally kicking in that was due days ago. Mum looks confused for a few seconds, then realises what I'm talking about.
"No." She answers decisively. "Your safer at School than you are here." After saying that, she drives me and my two brothers to school, where I meet Ivory in the library. Her face holds a mixture of fear and determination.
"Why aren't we doing anything?!" Ivory asks angrily before I can even sit down.
"Nice to see you too." I mutter under my breath, taking a seat.
"I mean, seriously, it's like no one is even noticing the world is ending! We're sitting ducks-we're waiting for it to happen and not doing anything about it!" Ivory shouts.
"Calm down." I tell her, noticing the librarian looking our way, about to walk over.
"Calm down? CALM DOWN?! We're all going to die because everyone is too lazy to do anything about it!" She screams. At this moment Kara comes and sits down, and her presence effects Ivory, instantly calming her down. Kara, being the most logical person, has a calming presence and brings order in her group. We all sit in silence until the bell goes. It's seems as though, for once, the whole school is deadly silence with fear lingering in the shadows.

For first period we have English. Our teacher, Mrs Greyson, isn't as bouncy and energetic as she normally is. The whole class seems to be mourning. When the bell finally goes, signalling the beginning of next period, I run over to Trent.
"What's up?" I ask, worried. He's normally more cheerful, yet he hasnt even been concentrating in class, which is a first timer for him and means something is terribly wrong. Apart from the obvious, of course.
"We can't contact Bella." Trent explains desperately. Oh.
"I'm sure she's fine.." I reassure with what I hope is a convincing lie. He looks at me and smiles weakly, his eyes thanking me for putting in the effort of trying to make him feel better in this dying world. Ivory and Kara walk over to us as we pack up our stuff for next class.
"We're ditching the rest of the day." Ivory informs us. We all look at her suprised.
"What?" Kara asks, about to launch into why class is important and why she dosent ditch.
"Why?" Trent asks, taken aback.
"We need to do some things. What's the point in education anymore? We might not even live to see tomorrow. Let's go and figure things out, just for today. Come on." Ivory says sharply, and leaves the classroom. We hurry after her as she twists through the hallways until we reach a small, secluded area that people could only see us if they walked up and looked through the windows. We all sit down in a circle, looking at Ivory expectantly.
"Well?" Kara asks, annoyed.
"I've been gathering information on Inanimatum for the past few days, and here's something weird. They tested the pill on some people. They could only get the disease if they are bitten." She shares.
"Woah, real life zombies." I whisper. The others look at me as if I'm immature. Too bad.
"So?" Kara asks, getting more annoyed.
"How about we just have one last day of fun, because I have a feeling things are going to turn into hell." She says. We all exchange glances, and we have to admit, we all have that feeling too.

When I get home I get changed and start listening to music, singing along. I'm quite proud of my voice, but I would never say it out loud. Everyone always compliments my singing, since I'm quite confident and sing nearly every five minutes.
Sighing, I put the movie Titanic on, my favourite movie of all time. Leonardo Di Caprio is so dreamy... Being bi, it's a rollercoaster of a movie for me, being attracted to both Rose and Jack. About 15 minutes into the movie, I hear footsteps and pause the movie, going into the lounge room where my mum sits on the couch, staring into space.
"Mum?" I ask nervously.
"Yes honey?" She replies, looking at me.
"Are you okay?" I ask, my voice shaking.
"Yeah..." She starts. Rolling my eyes, I turn on the T.V where a news reporter is finishing.
"Inanimatum has also reached Victoria."
Shit.
