I shout Charlie in, showing him the stick, he just stares at me, mouth wide open.
"Babe, hello?" I say and wave my hand in front of his face. He comes back to life.
"Sorry, is this true?" I nod and smile, looking down at the test.
"Wow" he says, scratching the back of his neck. He does that when he's nervous or scared, bless him. Not like I know what I'm doing but it's meant to be instinct for mums isn't it?"I will speak to the detective on our case and get a doctor to give me a scan so I know how far I am. It sucks I'll have to have someone there outside when we have scans and that but we have a baby to protect now" I breath out, not believing what I'm saying. Charlie nods still shocked by the results and I just pat his head as I walk by. I go on a search for my phone and for some reason it's in the microwave? I shrug it off. Must of been tired hahah! I search for the number and press call.
"Hi detective, this is Aaliyah, erm I have some news I wish to share with you as it may change things but I wish this to remain completely secret"
"Yes of course, what's wrong?" He replies.
" erm, just found out I'm pregnant" I smile even though he can't see me.
"Oh wow, congratulations, I will contact a midwife for you and keep you updated. How far do you think you are?"
"I'm not sure to be honest, test says 3+ weeks, I just hope it's not ya know, his" I sigh.
"Ok, don't worry, we will sort this" and with that he hung up. Bye then, I think to myself. I can actually look forward to something now, just wish I knew what was lurking outside.
