Renfro is back! - part 14

After four months Danny went out of the depression and is taking care of Jane.  John is learning a lot for the university and sometimes he has to fly back to USA but he doesn't have any contact with Renfro. Renfro said to him that they should be apart for a while because of Renfro's troubles.

One day, John gets home and Danny is ready to go out. She is in her bedroom.

John: Hey honey.

Danny: Hi! you're back! (They hugs eachother)

John: Where is she?

Danny: She is doing Chemiotheraphy. I will pick up her now, and then we will go shopping. For dinner. Do you need anything? Any wishes?

John: Don't buy meat! Please!

Danny: What a shame! I was going to buy steaks for us!

John: Ha ha ha, funny.

Danny: Ok, so salad for Dinner today. ( They laugh a lot. The bell rings)

John: Who is that?

Danny: I don't know, maybe the postman.

She goes open the door. She doens't believe what she was seeing. Renfro was there. She was in shock. She can't move or talk. She leaves the door open and goes to her bedroom. John comes to livingroon and asks her who was on the door and he immediately sees Renfro.

John: Renfro???? Oh my God! What are you doing here?

Renfro: Hey Dude! (They hugs eachother)

John: Hey man, you found us! That's great! Come in, I will... Oh wait! Danny opened the door?

Renfro: Yes she did.

John: And where is she now?

Renfro: I don't now Dude.

John: But you have to talk to her. WAit! I will. (Renfro interupts him)

Renfro: Hey, John. It is ok. She hates me. And I understand it and accept it. I have to. But I am hear to talk to you. I need your help. Yours, Jane's and Danny's help.

John: Ahm... Ok. What is going on?

Renfro: They are opening a case against me. They've got Jackson now. He is arrested in LA. But he told the CIA that I was involved on his business!

John: Fuck... But, you are not right?

Renfro: No I am not. But  Ihave to prove it. That's why I need your help. To tell them that I was junkie but I didn't do anything for the drug traffic. You have to tell them.

John: Yes of course! I will. Just tell me when.

Renfro: Thanks man. But I need that Jane and Danny also do it.

John: Renfro, I can promisse you that I am going to do that. But Danny and Jane...

Renfro: I can talk to her. Where is Jane?

John: In the clinic.

Renfro: Clinic? For what?

John: We found out that she has leukemia again. she is doing her treatment at the moment.

Renfro: I'm sorry John! Oh God! I am so stupid!

John: No, no. It is ok dude. Everything is going to be fine. The treatment  is very effective. She is responding well.

Renfro: Thanks God man! This are good news.

John: I wasn't talk about her, I was talking about Danny. I don't think that she will.

Renfro: Why not? I can talk to her! Let me see her now.

John: I think she is already gone.

Renfro: But I need her. She is very important. She was my girlfriend! She was there! She has lived there! Her testimony is the most important of all. Please. You should talk to her!

John is surprise about what Renfro Said.

John: Me????? Why me?

Renfro: She trusts you. She would do this for you.

John: Yes but I don't need her. YOU do! You should go to her and talk to her. Tell her the truth.

Renfro: Ha! Do you think that is it easy? I lied to her. I've loved her but I couldn't stay with her to protect her! I have to protect her!

John: So, tell her what you are saying to me now! She will understand you...She still loves you Renfro. You have to fight for this love. Like you did at the beginning!

Renfro: I can't.

John: Why not? Why can you not being together now, right now?

Renfro: I can't. (he cries)

John: Why not? What are you not telling me?

Renfro: I have another girlfriend.

John is very surprise.

John: You what?

Renfro: Sorry dude. but when you left me, and Danny, I - I was broken inside! I felt empty inside. Only the drugs... the drugs and me. Then I thought about Danny and what she said to me. That I should live my life without it! That the drugs would kill me, you know? Since you left, I am clean.

John: Wait! Wait! Wait! You are telling me, that after we went the USA you did what Danny said to you. No more drugs?

Renfro: Yes it is true! And I... ( John interrupts him and he is a bit angry)

John: So, you are clean, and living a good and happy life... with another person? But not Danny? She has given everything that she had in her life to rescue you. You were sick. You were a junkie... and now, is everything ok with you. No problems, no drugs. And you are living this normal life with another person?! Are you fucking kidding me?

Renfro: Hey, easy ok? We didn't planned it, ok? It happened. And john, as I already said, I've had to protect her! she was in dangerous!

John: Ok, ok. So, you want to protect her, fine. Btu How can we tell her that? Tell me! She should be a witness in this case, by your side. And you want to tell her that she is not your biggest love anymore????? I wish you good luck.

Renfro: Please, help me!

John: I will but I don't know if it is going to help you.
