The funeral - Part 17

Danny still doesn't believe what happened. She is sad, broken inside. She doesn't eat, drink or sleep. John and Jane are very worried about her. They are going to Renfro's funeral. John is also broken inside but he cannot show his feelings because he wants to be strong for Danny.
They get on his funeral. There are just his family and some very close friends. The most friends which were with him on his trip with the drugs weren't there.
Danny doesn't want to go ahead where his coffin and his family are. They stay in the back of the church. Jane goes to see Renfro's mother and tell her that they are already there. Renfro's mum says that she wants to see Danny. So Jane goes back to both and tells Danny that.

Jane: Danny, she realy wants to see you. Come with me.

Danny doesn't answer.

Jane: John, please. We have to do something. Danny it is important for her that you also say goodbye to him.

John: Darling... we have to say goodbye.

Suddently she speaks:

Danny: She must hate me.

Jane: Oh God, no. She is asking about you... Danny look at me. (She does) Everybody knows, what you have done for him. You've done everything you could to take him away from his drugs problems. It is not your fault. Stop to say that. Ok? We are here for you. You should cry a lot. you deserve it. He was your darling, the man that you love. But please, stop to say that it was your fault, because it wasn't.

John cries a lot as he heart Jane, and she sees it. She dries his face and now talks to him:

Jane: Yours neither. We did what we had to do. And you know that. You know why. Thank you for that.

He shakes his head giving a positive sign for Jane. Jane stands up:

Jane: So , now we have to go ahead and say goodbye. Come on Danny. I will help you.

They stand up and go ahead. Danny still doesn't believe what is happening. She saw his mother and go meet her. she hugs Danny and says close to her.

Renfro's mother: We did everything what we could. It was just his time to go. He is fine now.

Danny cries a lot.

Renfro's mother: Now is time to say goodbye.

Danny goes closer to the coffin. All three are in front of the coffin. Danny look at him, touch his hand and kisses him on his forehead. As she goes again to her place she saw someone who was very familiar for her. She goes back to his seat and still thinks about this person. She was alone on her seat, as suddenly she has remembered! It was one of the mafia! He was there as the mafia has met Renfro in his house. She wants to go there. She stands up, but John comes and puts his arm between one seat and other so that she cannot go away. He also knows who the man was.

John: Sit down Danny.

Danny: I have to go there. What is he doing here?????

John: Danny, come down and sit down, now. You are not going anywhere.

The mafia man also has seen Danny. He goes out from the church with a cell phone in his hand. He calls someone.

Mafia man: Hey, I want to talk to him... No, only with him... Boss? Guess what? She is here. As you said... Here? Should I do this here? It is a lot of people... Ok, ok. I know. The right time is coming... also for her.

All people in the church are now preparing to go to the cemetery. The coffin is already in the car. John, Jane and Danny are also getting out of the church.

John: So lets go home now. I am exhausted.

Jane: I know. you didn't sleep the last days.

Danny: I go to cemetery with them.

John: Sorry what? No, you should rest.

Danny: I want to go to the cemetery.

Jane: Danny, we already say goodbye to him. It will be a very painful experience for you to see him buried. Please, lets go home.

Danny: No...I 'll go to cemetery.

She goes to their car and wait for them. Meanwhile John and Jane stay outside.

John: So, lets go.

Jane: John wait. (She touches his arm and look at his eyes) you told me that you don't want to see it. That you don't want to go to the cemetery. It will be to painful for you. What happened?

John: She wants to go. And I will not leave her alone there.

Jane: So then, I go with her. And you go home.

John: Jane, don't you see how she is? I am asking me, if Danny one day, will be happy again. What we can do for her Jane? What we can do to make her happy again? Nothing! Nothing! We-We will live our lives again. Work again. Love again... What is about her? You know her way to love someone. She will never love again. Never. So, yes I 'm going to cemetery with her this is what I can do for her in this moment.

Jane: Ok. Lets go.

They go to the cemetery together. They all listen to the priest, and the tears in Danny's eyes don't stop to fall down. The coffin goes finally down and Danny doesn't get this view so she turns to John's arms and cries. John realizes again the presence of the weird man from the mafia. He notes that he was looking at Danny all the time.
