Getting dressed this morning is a little difficult. I don't know if I should dress casual or dress up a little bit. I'm spending the day with Tyler and I don't exactly know how I feel about that. I know it was my idea in the first place, but I didn't realize how nervous it would make me. I was considering a red sundress and my old cowboy boots, but then I seen a tight purple dress that goes down to just above my knee. The problem is that the dress in my date night dress and I don't think this is a date. After going through outfit after outfit, I finally decide on the red sundress.
I guess Jim gave Tyler my phone number when he gave away my hotel room. Tyler texted me this morning that he would be here around 11:30, and it is only 10. I've been in such a big hurry that I didn't realize how much time I actually have. I decide to check my email get do some useless work that I have had piled up for the past month. Opening my laptop, I see the picture of me and my dad. The image of the night he died goes through my head, causing me to let out a few tears.
I open up my email to find a message from Jim and my mother. I check my mother's first.
Violet,
I hope everything is okay there being around bulls and horses for the first time since you father passed. Just remember, he is watching and smiling because you moved on. You are a strong girl and I'm so proud that you were able to overcome your fear of the rodeo. Keep your head high and give a big hug to Tucker for me. I love you baby girl.
Love,
Mom.
Geez mom, if you only knew what has happened to me since I've been here. I reply to him saying thank and that I will give Tucker that hug for her. Next I open Jim's email.
Vi,
I know how much this whole thing is tearing you up inside. I want to thank you for ignoring your feelings when you can to work with me. I am hoping that things will look up for you considering I seen you talking to Tyler. Ya like him don't ya, wink wink. Anyway, I have some news for you. We are going to end up in Cheyenne Wyoming in about two months. When you asked your strange question, I was curious and I looked into it. That must be your favorite and least favorite town. You lost your dad there, he was buried there, and you were born there. Just being with you for this short time, I learned so much and I can't wait to learn more. I'll see you at the sight of the next rodeo. Stay beautiful.
Jim.
Why does everyone have to look into who I am. First Tyler looks into what happened to my dad. Then Jim looks into why I want to be in Cheyenne. Am I not allowed any privacy anymore. For heaven's sake, at least ask me these things. Is it so hard to ask a simple question. I have a photographic memory of these things and it's irritating when people look me up on the internet.
I delete Jim's message and get to work on some of the stuff I have piled up. I get lost in my work and jump when someone knocks on the door. I look at the time and see that it's 11:30. Where the hell did time go and where the hell was I the entire time. I get up and answer the door to find Tyler standing there with some flowers. There are carnations, roses, lilies, and daisies. When my mouth drops open a little, he laughs a little.
"I know I'm good looking, but come on Violet. You seen me just as stunning yesterday," he jokes causing me to punch him in the arm. "Obviously, these are for you."
"Thank you and come on in smart ass," I reply. "Sorry, I lost track of time. I'm not ready, so I'm going to quickly put on some makeup and perfume then do my hair."
"You don't need to do that. You look amazing exactly how you are right now. Let's go and show the world what they don't have with them."
"Um, okay. Thanks Tyler."
