So, there's real no plot in this chapter mostly fluff FYI

The school term was practically the same from then. Only Spencer hung out at Sally's house with her Uncle Rich instead of his place.

They continued to play Nerf battles at times and Sally worked on loosening Spencer out from being stiff and pleasant to just relaxing and being himself.

Her friends helped too, making him a fellow geek about Big Bang Theory, Supernatural, Sherlock, Star Trek, and especially Doctor Who, which was what Spencer loved most. Close second being Star Trek.

On the days that Sally had to work, they both hung out at her job. Olive instantly falling in love with Spencer and his 'cuteness' as she put it when she pinched his child-like cheeks.

He asked her afterward what was with that and Sally just smirked and pinched his cheeks teasingly as she said, "Because you're adorable and when a child is adorable, their cheeks get pinched."

"I don't understand." Spencer had replied leaving them both into a discussion about women which ended with both participates confused about the people that are known as females.

When Sally was off the job and they were both out of the house, they went to the park where Sally was showing Spencer how to throw a baseball, something he never had done with his father or his mother.

Speaking of his mother, she was slowly getting paranoid and Sally could see the strain building in Mr.Reid.

The only time she wasn't paranoid was, surprisingly, when Spencer was with Sally. She once stated when they came home that her baby bird was safe with her, that she just knew she could trust Sally.

It was one of the few moments that didn't make that much sense, yet made perfect sense. Sally had shrugged it off at the time and made Spencer cookies because she just could.

She liked to stay with the Spencer's until she knew her uncle needed her, that it might be around the time for him to take his pills.

The pills which did seem to help, but Uncle Rich was getting sicker and sicker. Some days worse than others which added stress to Sally who loved her uncle very much.

So it came to be a relief when Summer had come around and she could work full-time for money instead of doing part-time because of school.

"I thought summer meant less work?" Spencer asked once as he looked up from his book.

"Well, I need the money." Sally said trying to not divulge the reason too much unless Spence really asked, she never lied to him or dismissed his questions.

Which sometimes included random statistics or bedtime stories that, at times, were delivered over the phone.

"Why?" Spencer asked the question she hoped to avoid but she knew better and had an answer prepared.

"The hospital bills are gaining and I still need money for college." She tried to explain to him softly, hoping that she wasn't damaging the innocence that was still in him with the reality of life, that things were unfair like that.

But Spencer just nodded and went back to reading while Sally went over to new customers for their drink orders.

He never asked why she worked longer and a lot more days after that, and Sally appreciated that she didn't need the reminder.

So it was a bit of a shock to Spencer one day when, instead of going straight home, they went to the park early where Sally bought him an ice-cream cone.

"Why?" Spencer asked

"Because you never told me you're birthday was on October twelve, so we're celebrating it today." Sally said swinging an arm around his shoulders, something he was slowly getting use to but only to Sally, he still wouldn't shake anyone's hands and hated hugs (those that aren't from Sally or his mother).
