I grabbed one of the cereal containers that we had for a to-go breakfast along with a bagel. Grabbing my backpack also in a swift motion I ran outside and down the street hoping I hadn't missed the bus.

I was huffing in breath just as I made the bus and swiftly got onto the public bus before it went on without me, "Sorry 'bout that." I told the bus driver who just smiled and rolled his eye, this wasn't knew so he just motioned me to continue to move.

I found Spence sitting near the back and plopped next to him startling for a second, he probably thought I missed it but here I was in my grinning glory.

"Sorry about that, almost overslept." I said grinning and handed him the bagel wrapped in a napkin. When he raised eyebrow in question I grinned.

"I'm assuming you missed breakfast." I replied to the unspoken question, he shrugged a little awkwardly and eyed the bagel.

"What's your favorite cereal?" I asked pretending to not notice him not eating the food.

"That one." He said directing toward the Lucky Charms I had in my hand, I grinned and plucked the bagel out of his hand and instead shoved the cereal.

"Your lucky day I guess then." I said and bite into the bagel kinda wishing I bought Cream Cheese but whatever, food is food.

Spencer actually started to eat the food when I produced a spoon, we sat in silence and quietly ate before Spencer asked a question, "How old are you, you never said and I don't know you well enough in school to know."

I swallowed a piece of bagel and cleared my throat, "I'm sixteen, eight years older than you. Which means I'm a Junior though, summer birthday." I explained.

"Why don't you drive to school?" Spencer asked tilting his head slightly.

I shrugged, "We don't have enough money for my own car and my uncle sold his car for medical bills." I explained with a small shrug, "Don't worry about it." I pushed my shoulder against his for a second before pulling back.

"Thanks. For breakfast I mean." Spencer said ducking his head in his awkwardness.

"Don't worry about it, I'll bring more tomorrow." I said giving him a smile, "You know, only 44% of Americans eat breakfast everyday." I commented trying to make Spencer feel relaxed.

It seemed to work because he lifted his head and stared at me with a confused look, "Why do you say a lot of statistics?" he questioned.

"Why not? It's a random fact and can be a good conversation starter, plus they can be interesting." I commented with a shrug.

"My dad says that you shouldn't talk like that." He mumbled and looked down.

"What does your dad know? Infact, about 50 percent of them struggle with their kids homework, so what do they know?" I asked as a counterargument and threw in a statistic for the fun of it.

Spencer just tried to hid a smile, "I guess you're right." he said and I heard the light tone, mission accomplished.

Before we could carry on with the conversation, the bus rolled to a stop and I knew that we needed to get off, "Come on, show me to your classes and I'll show you mine before school starts." I said and gently pulled him up from the seat.

I let go of him as soon as we got off the bus knowing that too much physical touch will make him awkward because of his germaphobia, "I normally just read before school starts." Spencer frowned and looked toward the bleachers, probably where he normally read before school.

"It's nice to change sometimes, after today we both can hang out under there and read." I said smiling and ignored the Junior Football team who were pushing each other like idiots near the flagpole.
