MEETING A FRIEND
"Honey, wake up!" Lexie was woken up by the slaps on her face.
"Relax mom! I'm still alive," she murmured. When she was heartbroken her mom had tantrums that when Lexie is sleeping she'll woke her up checking if she's still alive. "I haven't drunk the poison yet." she added.
"Oh you're giving me creeps." her mom replied. "Someone's at the living room, she wants to meet you. And be careful on your last step on our stairs it's broken. By the way, we're in our new house."
Who would visit her this early morning she thought. And how did she get here? Lexie foxed herself, had a shower and went downstairs. She saw Pauline. She thought of slapping her in the face, pulling her hair, stabbing her with the knife and kill her but instead she acted appropriately.
"Oh gosh, it's been months how are you." Pauline murmured. Oh the sound of her voice, it's bitchy she thought.
"I'm fine." Lexie said.
"Oh Coleen, you're here. Where's Pauline?" her mom gave Pauline cookies. What? Pauline is Coleen, I thought she's Pauline, Lexie thought.
"Are you Coleen? I thought you were Pauline." Lexie exclaimed. "Sorry, girl, I am out of my mind." she added. Coleen is Pauline's twin sister. They are exactly the same. But if you get to know them, you'll know that Pauline's bitchy and Coleen's the opposite.
"Coleen, you would not believe what happened. I still can't get over Renz! Your sister, she's the antagonist of our love story. If only I acted earlier. That bitchy Pauline." Lexie said anxiously.
"Oh girl, it's okay. I just want to talk to you. Ask you if you're fine here in your new house." Coleen said. Coleen was one of Lexie's bestest friend when they were in Kingstone High. The two bestfriends can't stop talking, wishing each other's best life.
"Uhm, Mrs. Herven... May I go out with Lexie." Coleen asked. Lexie's mother-- Maryse gave Lexie a dont-do-anything-stupid-look.
"Mom, please?" Lexie pleaded.
"Okay darling." Maryse replied. Lexie hurriedly went upstairs to fix her hair, her lipatick. When was the last time she put her make up on? At the homecoming ball? That fucking homecoming dance where Renz dumped the shit out of her! She cursed.
-----
"What is your order Ma'am?" the waitress asked them.
"I'll have a Hot Chocolate and your blueberry cheesecake." Coleen replied.
"I'll have the English Green Tea please." Lexie exclaimed.
"You're still that angelic face I met when I was in Kingstone High," Coleen said studying Lexie as if she was a priceless artifact. "But something has changed within you." Coleen added.
"Gosh girl, you are pathetic. I'm still the old imperfect, clumsy, worthless little girl Renz had dumped." Lexie said furiously cursing herself for not being good and pretty enough for Renz.
"Don't say that. You are not worthless. You are one of the precious stones i've met." Coleen forced all her will to make Lexie feel better.
"Yeah, one of the precious stones you see on a dirty road. A precious stone that was stomped on, hurt, left alone." Lexie sighed. This talk was supposed to end pretty well like shopping their favorite outfits, picking a fab color for their nails, doing each other's hair... But this talk started and will end with the name Renz Lorenzo.
"I know what had changed..." Coleen replied. "Your smile, your laughter, your sweet giggle. Oh I missed those times with Stephanie. How we laughed so hard till our stomach aches. Girl, cheer up! It's a beautiful world." Coleen said changing the eerie topic.
"Beautiful? How can you consider the Earth beautiful? Coleen, life is unfair. You need to wake up from your perspective that we are living in paradise because we're not! We're living in this damn hell!" Lexie shouted not realizing all the people were staring at her. The waitress smiled and handed them their orders.
"Ma'am I can't help but overheard you from the counter. Life is a choice. If you choose to be happy then your perspective will be positive but if you treat life as hell then exoect evertything to be negative." The waitress smiled at her. Who the hell is she? Is she some kind of God's messenger to cheer me up? Well she's not doing a great thing because she's annoying, Lexie thought.
"Excuse me? Why are you telling this?" Lexie replied raising her eyebrows.
"Ma'am, i'm a waitress... I work overtime, 16 hours a day and all I get is a free home. My husband died last week passing the responsibility to me. I have 5 children at home. They stopped schools to earn money and you think life for you sucks?" The waitress smiled. "Life is a choice, Miss. I am living a miserable life everyday but I chose to be happy. I chose to have a positive outlook on life." The waitress left her a note.
"Be cheerful, Strive to be happy. It is a wonderful world out there."
"Girl, would you please pay the bill. I'm outta here! These people are on my nerves!" Lexie exclaimed.
"As you wish Madam." Coleen sighed. She wasn't like this before. She used to be jolly, friendly, and full of jokes. Coleen thought. After going outside, Coleen dropped Lexie by her house and waved goodbye. She immediately went home which was 2 hours of driving. After opening the door she saw Pauline.
"Oh gosh. You're here! Thank goodness. I have a good news." Pauline jumped happily.
"What is it?" Coleen sighed.
"You are looking at Renz Lorenzo's fiance." Pauline exclaimed and Coleen's jaw dropped.
