EATING GROSSY SLASH YUMMY TREATS
Lexie and Renz kept strolling the busy streets of Philippines. Children were muttering something about little flowers. Renz called it sampaguita. Although, Lexie didn't know it smell so good.
Renz led Lexie to the sidewalk. This is really not a date, she thought. Lexie looked disgusted at the foods displayed on the sidewalk. Renz called it isaw which he said was chicken intestine. Ew, so gross Lexie kept the thought away.
"Try this," Renz passed an isaw on Lexie.
"Are you sure this is edible?" Lexie kept staring at the isaw. "Bloody Heavens, this is disgusting." she added.
"It's delicious." Renz said while munching his so-called isaw as if it was a fresh roasted spare ribs. Oh, I should try spare ribs here in the Philippines, Lexie thought.
"Ok," Lexie sniffed the isaw and made a bite. Surprisingly, it was delicious. Although it has a bitter taste, Lexie enjoyed the stick of isaw.
"Isaws are best when dip into a sauce." Renz said.
Bloody Heavens, where is the sauce? Lexie thought.
"Ma'am sauce po?" The vendor passed a container full of red sauce. Is that a katsup? With black bits? It's not saucy, it's watery, she put the thought aside.
"What did he say?" Lexie asked Renz.
"She told you that that is the sauce." Renz pointed at the large container containing the red fluid of mystery.
"H-here it goes." Lexie dipped her isaw unto the red container. She just hoped this thing was clean.
"Hmmm... This is so good." Lexie smiled mischieviously.
"Kuya, heto ang bayad." Renz gave the vendor a Fifty peso bill.
Wait, did he gave the vendor Fifty pesos? She thought unbelievably.
"Was that enough?" Lexie asked Renz.
"Yeah, an isaw costs Five pesos only and you kept on munching. I just hoped you liked it." Renz said messing Lexie's hair.
How awkward! Lexie Adams just ate a LOT of isaws. Omg, a no no on the first date, she blushed.
"Are you blushing Ms. Adams?" Renz teased.
"Puh-lease, Mr. Lorenzo." she walked away acting like she was offended.
"Wait Lexie... You haven't tried the Dirty Ice Cream." Renz shouted.
Woah wait, dirty ice cream? She thought.
"Woah, Mr. Lorenzo... First you made me ate a bunch of chicken intestines then now you're making me eat a dirty ice cream for desert? I've had enough of Philippine delicacies." Lexie raised her hands up.
"You're silly. Of course it isn't really dirty," Renz wiped a tear of laughter. "It's just a figure of speech." He smiled.
Enough with that silly smiles Mr. Lorenzo, my legs are wobbly. Her heart did multiple jumping jacks.
"Kuya, dalawang ice cream. Yung tatlo yung flavor ha?" Renz told the guy.
The guy got two cones and scooped in their ice cream from three surprisingly large containers in a-- what do they call it? Kariton with bells, ugh, I really need to learn more about Philippines, Lexie thought.
"Here," Renz passed the cone to Lexie. In England, ice cream vendors sell their ice creams on a moving truck or a van. Filipinos are so odd.
She kept munching her ice cream which really tastes well and it is super sweet.
"My friend PJ, used to call this Canal Ice Cream."
Lexie immediately spit her Ice Cream on the ground. She kept vomiting until all the isaws she ate was now on the floor. Uh oh, a BIG TURN OFF, she thought.
"Bloody Hell," she shouted at Renz but it is difficult to stay mad at those sparkling eyes.
"S-sorry, b-but w-we Filipinos think Dirty's are Yummys" Renz pouted.
Oh stop pouting at me Mr. Lorenzo, I can't focus on what to say or how to act, she was distracted by how Renz acts.
"What do they call it? M-musa-r-rap a-a-ng b-b-uw-al?" Lexie stammered in saying a simple Filipino sentence.
"You mean, Masarap ang Bawal," Renz corrected her. "You're really learning huh? Where did you get that?" he teased while messing her hair.
"In a commercial." She smiled.
---
"Oh my G! That was your first date?" Coleen asked.
"Well, yeah! Would you please stop hitting me? The nerves girl!" Lexie snapped.
"Chicken intestines are so yucky. And oh, by the way... I think you need to know this. Renz proposed to Pauline." Coleen said hoping her bestfriend doesn't kill her.
"Ow, ok." Lexie said simply although that news shattered her heart.
