Chapter 1: Transported back in time

I sighed deeply, running a hand through my hair. I tried to hide the bruise on my cheek with my hand, avoiding the eyes of the passing trainees. Not knowing when they were going to debut, just like me.... my life was really pitiful. I gave up everything to become a trainee, and it has only caused me grief... maybe I should just give up? No, I would be buried in debt for the cost of training...

Would it be easier just to end it? Maybe... I would be reincarnated into a better life? Any life at all. Maybe it would be fun...

I shook myself out of the depressing thoughts, making my way to the stairs of the company building. I hated elevators, my claustrophobia kicked in whenever I was near one. Plus, I don't really socialize with people, due to being alone my whole life. It might be a serious problem, I should really talk to someone about that... I opened the door, making my way down the stairs with heavy steps. My cheek burned. Our teacher had hit me because I couldn't get the steps right and was being a hindrance to everyone. In actuality, that bad woman Hyeri kept tripping me whenever we went though the steps so I would get scolded.

That Hyeri. Ugh, she hated me, and made it her goal to make my life miserable. Yet she was the golden child in the company, and everyone believed her lies. I could only suffer if I wanted to keep being a trainee. She stole the man I was in love with, she sabotaged my practices, she took all the songs I composed... if only I could have another life. I wouldn't have to suffer...

I rubbed the tears away furiously. "Are you alright, sweetheart?" A voice said, and I looked up to see a man in a suit, looking at me with concern. He looked like a CEO, maybe he was here visiting out boss? I quickly bowed to him, looking away.

"I'm sorry, sir, I was just...thinking. I didn't see you there." I said hurriedly.

"You look like you're in deep thoughts. Are you alright?" he asked in concern.

"I was just wondering...what it would be like to have another life. I think...any life would be better than the hell I'm in now." I murmured. He was quiet, then moved my hair away from my face.

"You can't just wish for another life. It's not that easy. Nor can you just become...another person entirely. You just have to...follow your fate." he said with a mysterious smile.

I stared at him in confusion as he put a gorgeous hairpin in my hair, and with a wink, walked out of the staircase. "What was his deal..?" I wondered aloud. In the end, I shrugged it off and kept trudging down the stairs, when suddenly, the stairway turned dark as it was cast in an eery shadow. I looked out the window to see an eclipse encase the sun, and my eyes widened. An...eclipse? In the middle of the day? A door silently opened as I stood frozen in a stupor, and the sound of footsteps reached my ears. Before I could turn around, I was pushed down the flight of stairs. I gave a scream as my body exploded in pain, and my head slammed on the staircase wall, and soon, everything went black.

I gave a low groan, clutching my head. It throbbed painfully, and my vision danced as I slowly opened my eyes. I was in an unfamiliar room, it looked like something out of a historical drama. "Where...am I? Am I...dead?" I murmured, looking around. The door opened, and a young girl in a servants outfit walked in. She gasped as she saw me, dropping the tray in her hands.

"Lady Hae! My Lady!" she exclaimed, and I winced at the volume as my head throbbed again. Several people came running in, one a gorgeous woman who was dressed in expensive clothes from the past. She was being helped in by a servant, and her face relaxed in relief as she saw me.

"Thank goodness you are awake. I was worried you were really gone." she breathed in relief.

"Um...who are you? Where...am I?" I asked quietly. They stared at me quizzically, and I stared back just as confused. "Wait...that's right, I'm dead." I said with a laugh.
