"The doctor said you must drink this herbal tea to help your intestines heal. It had special medicine that helps with the blood." Lady Hae said, handing me a dark green concoction. I scrunched up my nose. I hated tea. I hesitantly reached for the cup, smelling the bitterness from far away. I whined softly, looking up at Lady Hae with pleading eyes. She only sternly looked at me and back down to the cup, and I looked down sadly. I one-shot the tea, gagging as my throat burned with the strange taste.
"It tastes horrible..." I muttered, handing her the cup back.
"That is what you get for engaging in battle. Ladies, no less princesses, should not participate in that sort of thing." Lady Hae lectured, and I rolled my eyes. Stupid roles of the past...I should at least know how to protect myself instead of waiting for some dude to save me...besides, most of the time, your knight in shining armor never comes. I swallowed the lump in my throat at the thought, looking up at the sound of the door opening. My eyes widened as Prince Yo smirked down at me, Wook looking panicked from behind.
"Your highness! What brings you to this estate?" Lady Hae asked, bowing to the Prince. Yo entered the room, stopping at my bedside.
"I heard Princess Hyunbin was wounded, so I came to see her. I see she looks as lively as ever." he said, looking me up and down.
"I'm not as sickly as you think, your highness." I said, bowing my head towards him. I looked back up at him to see him smirk again.
"Well, considering all the things I have seen you go through, it is hard to not be...worried." he said after a bit. My eyebrow twitched as my anger rose. Was he belittling me? I smiled fakely.
"You should not waste your time or energy in worrying about me, your highness. You should worry about more important matters." I said slowly.
"Who said you were not important? Certainly not me." Yo said with fake concern, or was it sarcasm? Either way, it pissed me off.
I was about to make a retort when Wook stepped in, putting an anxious hand on my shoulder. I shut up quickly, recognizing that look in his eyes. "Please, brother, we are grateful for your concern, but Hyunbin needs rest. Let us not argue and leave her with my wife. Let us talk about more urgent matters instead." Wook said, glancing back at me and Lady Hae. Yo stared at Wook, finally smirking and nodding.
"Of course. Rest is needed to be healthy. I will come see you another time, Princess." Yo said with a smile, turning and walking out with Wook. Lady Hae rushed to close the door and I let out a growl into the sheets.
"I swear that man angers me to no end! He was making fun of me, I swear!" I exclaimed, glaring at the door. Lady Hae swatted at my hand, staring down at me.
"Do not speak ill of the Prince. I am sure he was just wording his speech wrong. He seemed somewhat concerned." Lady Hae said, but I could hear the doubt in her voice. I scoffed, crossing my arms.
"Sure." I said sarcastically, pausing as she stared at me. "I mean...I doubt it, Lady Hae." I corrected, standing up from the bed.
I neared the mirror and felt around my stomach, wincing at the pain. "I really should stop injuring myself though." I wondered aloud.
"Let us hope." Lady Hae said with a smile.

"So, So and Wook think it was Yo who hired the assassins?" I asked Hae Soo. We were huddled in her room, avoiding prying ears and eyes. She nodded absently, fiddling with the cloth around her neck. The assassin had injured her slightly, but it was nothing serious.
