"Your highness." She greeted him, and Baek-Ah swallowed stiffly.
"Lady Hae." He greeted back. I could just feel the tension, and it made my heart ache. What could have happened between them? He couldn't...no, he isn't...
"That is a new pin, Hyunbin. It is gorgeous on you." Lady Hae said with a smile, patting my hair down.
"Thank you, it was a gift from-" I cut myself off, looking over at Baek-ah.
"Prince Jung." I blurted out, and Baek-Ah looked at me in shock.
"Really?" Lady Hae asked, and I nodded.
"Mm. He thought it would look pretty with me, and gave it to me as a present. I guess it was to comfort me with what happened yesterday." I lied. I would have to fill Jung in later.
"Well, come inside. We are having dinner." Lady Hae said, going back inside.
It was an awkward silence, and Baek-ah spun me around to look at him. He looked angry and confused, and hurt. "Why did you lie to her?" He exclaimed.
"You love her." I murmured, and he froze. I felt my heart pang, and I grinned. "I thought so. It is so obvious, it is written all over your face. You love her, and she married Wook. You are brokenhearted. No wonder you are so mad." I whispered. He stayed silent, not moving nor denying my words.
I stepped away from him, clenching my teeth as to not say something I shouldn't. "I am leaving, your highness. Good night." I bowed and spun around, walking back inside and sliding the door shut. I quickly rubbed away the stray tears that fell and plastered a smile on my face.
"Hyunbin, there you are. Come, let us eat!" Wook said with a smile, pulling me to the table. I sat down and dug into the food, filling my mouth so I wouldn't cry. "Tomorrow is a big day. There is going to be a festival tomorrow, and the king and princes will be there doing a show. The king wants you to come so he can see how you have been." Wook said, and I choked on meat.
"The KING?!" I exclaimed, coughing loudly. Hae Soo rushed to give me water, and I chugged it down.
"Yes. It will be your second time meeting him, first time you will actually remember. Be sure to behave. You have never been disrespectful, but, just in case." Wook said. Oh god, the king. I'm meeting King Taejo. Oh dear, what am I gonna do....

"These robes will do nicely, thank you." Lady Hae said with a smile, dismissing the royal dresser. My heart beat nervously as I looked at myself in these extravagant robes. Baek-ah's hair pin glinted prettily, and I had robes that patched the pin, beautiful aquamarine robes with rose designs trailing down the robe."Absolutely gorgeous. It looks good with Jung's pin." Lady Hae said with a smile. I smiled guiltily. Amazing, now I'm wearing an entire outfit reminding me of my heartbreak. Great. I could never be mad at Lady Hae though. She's so kind, and all she wants is peace for her husband and herself, as well as Hae Soo. I could never resent her for anything.
A knock came on the door, and we turned to see Wook walk in. He smiled warmly and looked me up and down, his expression changing into one of awe. "Beautiful, is she not?" Lady Hae said with a smile, stroking my hair gently. Wook nodded, coming over to Lady Hae and patting her back.
"You both look beautiful." He said, and Lady Hae smiled, the brightest smile I have ever seen in my life.
"Are you ladies ready to go? Our brothers will meet us there." Wook said, taking Lady Hae's hand and leading her out. I took a shaky breath and followed them out, looking up at the sound of a clatter. Prince Jung stared at me with wide eyes, a fallen sword clattered on the floor. "I swear, brother, be careful." Wook said, picking up the sword with a sigh.
