"I do not care. Go ahead and kill her." So said with a smirk, and my blood ran cold.
What the hell is he saying?!
The assassin pressed the tip of the dagger into Hae Soo's neck, and I could see So panic as his body tensed. He was calling his bluff...he doesn't want her dead at all. I treaded lightly, opening my fan with a snap as I dropped low to the ground. I need to be quiet, I can't draw either of their attention. If Hae Soo sees me, she'll call me out as well.
"Please, save me..." Hae Soo whimpered, and my anger only grew. I felt around the fan and found metal bars keeping the silk together. I smirked and tore the silk, seeing sharp metal rods being the body of the fan. I closed the fan again, sneaking up behind the assassin.
The assassins hand shook, and I frowned. He's fearing for his life. He knows he's cornered, and he will get killed if he goes back to his boss. What a messy situation...I don't want to kill him. I kept low to the ground and inched towards the assassin, trying to keep as quiet as possible.
So saw me and tensed, his eyes widening at me. I saw the assassin start to turn, and I lunged forward, snapping the fan open as I sliced at his arm. He gurgled a scream, releasing Hae Soo as he clutched his arm. I pointed my rod at him, narrowing my eyes. "Do not move. I do not want to kill you." I said lowly.
"Hyunbin..?" Hae Soo stuttered. I looked over at her and smiled comfortingly, when the assassin lurched forward and grabbed my blade.
I tensed and tried to pull back, but choked as he pushed the handle into my ribs roughly. I coughed violently, feeling blood drip down my mouth. Damn, I got distracted! Never get distracted in a fight, Luna! I'm an idiot!
"Prince So, get Hae Soo to safety!" I croaked, parrying a stab of his sword with my rod. I swung it towards his legs as he jumped back, swinging towards my arms. I gasped and pulled back, falling to the ground with a thud. He swung towards my body on the ground and I rolled away quickly. I shuffled backwards until my back hit a tree. Not good! I'm nothing against a professional assassin...
I squeezed my eyes shut as I waited for the blow, but only heard a grunt, and a thud beside me. I opened an eye, and gasped as I saw the assassin dead at my feet, a dagger going clean through his skull. I looked up to see Wook breathing heavily, pulling back his arm as he stared at me. "W-w-w..." I stuttered, my hands shaking as I covered my mouth. I looked back down at the dead body, feeling bile rise in my throat.
"You idiot, you killed the only assassin left!" So shouted, but Wook paid him no mind as he ran up to me.
"Princess..." he murmured, pulling me up strongly.
"You killed him." I murmured in disbelief.
Wook looked down. "He was going to kill you. I had to." he whispered. I shook my head, keeping silent as I looked down. Hae Soo rushed to my side, when So pulled a sword to my neck. I tensed in surprise, while Wook pointed a dagger at him.
"You killed the only lead we had left because of this girl?!" So exclaimed with a crazed laugh. My body started to shake at his tone. What if he actually killed me...
"Let. her. go." Wook muttered dangerously, and So laughed.
"And what if I say no?" he said with a grin.
"No more..." I murmured, and everyone looked at me in surprise.
"NO MORE HURTING ANYONE!" I screamed loudly. "If you really think I am such a waste then just kill me." I laughed, my body shaking as I snapped open my fan. So's eye widened, pressing the blade to my throat.
