"Wait, Massie! Wait, don't- oof!" I let out a breath of air when my butt made contact with the disgusting.... infested... filthy... bug-infested floor... Sorry, off topic.

"My hair, braid my hair! Braid my hair!"

A British blonde had just tackled me, and is currently choking me, demanding for a hair style. Unfortunately, I call her my friend. She then eventually started to jerk me back and forth and talked so fast, that I didn't understand a word she said.

"Massie, stop being British and tell me what you want!"

"It's Valentines, and my hair looks like a disaster!"

I eyed her hair for a moment. "Looks fine to me."

She looked at me disbelievingly,

"You horrible liar!"

Okay then...

"No seriously, it's fine, you don't need a new hairstyle, Mass." I said sincerely, ignoring her conspicuous glare. I abruptly turned to open my locker, but then Massie turned me around and roughly pushed me against my locker.

"No! It's Valentines and I need to impress Drakie-boo!"

"Jesus, woman, he's not even your boyfriend!"

She let out a horrified gasp.

"Yet. He's not my boyfriend yet. I think today's the day that's all going to change."

The statement made me raise my eyebrow. "What makes you think that?"

"Well, duh, it's Valentine's day!"

"What's so special about Valentines?" Massie and I immediately turned our heads to the sound of the voice.

"It's just a stupid day when people murder roses and fuck each other. And if that's not the case, it's just another way of telling lonely people, 'Hey, loser? Guess who's got no date for Valentines?'"

Elle, aka my other best friend, Ms. Curse-a-lot, just popped out of nowhere. She started to fiddle with her locker, which ended up being repeatedly punched and kicked because it wouldn't open.

"Why won't this stupid thing budge?" Elle cried, still abusing the poor locker.

I rolled my eyes at that and faced the three people trailing behind her, Aleesha, Frankie and Maxine.

If it still wasn't obvious, I have five best friends. No, I'm not part of the oh so superior, elite, vexatious, introverted A-listers; or, in layman's terms, the popular crowd. I was perfectly fine with that, though. More than fine actually, I was content with my friends and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

"Hey guys!" Max greeted as she jogged towards us, making her straight raven hair sway. She paused for a bit, her smile slowly faltering as she took in the whole scene. "What's with the retarded redhead kicking the locker?"

Said redhead turned around and glared at her.

"The stupid thing won't open! My math book is in there and math starts in five minutes."

"Try punching the code again." Frankie suggested. Elle shook her head and sighed.

"I already did, twice."

"Did you try pulling it hard?" Aleesha asked. Elle faced her, pulling a sardonic face.

"No, how could I not think of that? The thought did not cross my mind at all! Gasps and clenches heart for more effect."

Aleesha rolled her eyes and shot her an annoyed, pointed look. She opened her mouth, about to retort to Elle's obvious sarcasm, when Massie dramatically screamed.
