Mirai set alone to find Amari in a dark lonely road. The more further she walks the more woods there would be. Somehow she just got a feeling that Amari might be there. A sudden noise came from above. Amari is sitting on a tree branch looking down upon Mirai herself.

"Why are you following me?" Amari questioned from a safe distance. "Just tell me why you've been intentionally trying to involve yourself with me today?" Amari spoke.

"I came here to speak with you, I don't want to battle with you or anything. I just want to settle things, getting rid of the vague vibes. No harm done." Mirai tries to present herself to Amari with kinship, she hoped.

"I see." Amari groom her hand on the settling snow off the branch, "Then it'd be better off if you go back. We aren't destined to be friends but rivals. We may possessed the same powers, but our background story is completely different. No kinship can define our fate."

Mirai refused to listen. She took a step forward, but Amari gave her a gazing glare, preventing Mirai from getting over the line. Creating bonds with an enemy may not be a smooth thing to do, but it is worth the possibilities.

"Do you want to at least get to know each other?" Mirai held her breath, hoping for a positive feedback.

Amari decided to leap off the branch and walk away without a word, leaving Mirai curious of her past. As she walks away, her appearance disappears in the distance. Mirai stood there looking ahead of herself; although she could feel the cold atmosphere changing around her.

"Winter is supposed to be cold." Akihito breathed.

He opened his door, locking it from behind, walking straight to his bed. Akihito felt a strange heat surrounding him. Then quickly taking his scarf and jacket off. Akihito laid on the bed while staring at the ceiling.

His phone suddenly vibrate from the muted tone, and immediately taking it out from his pocket, he'd answer, "Hello?"

"Senpai." Said the voice from the other end.

"Kuriyama, Is that you?" Akihito sat crisscross on the bed, still in his school uniform.

"I... " She paused, giving Akihito a long wait. "I want to talk to you. Are you at your apartment?"

"Well yeah, I am at my apartment, but where are you at? I can come to you instead." Akihito insisted.

Mirai give his reply a sigh. "No, it's alright, senpai. I'm coming to you anyways."

Then she ended the phone call which bothers Akihito once again, it worried him. So he waited until Mirai comes to his apartment. A moment after waiting, a knock came from Akihito's door. He stands up, rushing toward the door, and opens it; then finding Mirai with a frown. Akihito lead her into his apartment room. She sat there on her legs while kneeling on the floor looking down.

"Is there something wrong? Are you not feeling well, Mirai?" Akihito wondered, yet Mirai still gives him a shook.

"Senpai, I was thinking of how I can get closer to Amari Itsuki. Every time I try to approach her she always seem to walk away without giving me a sense of some sort. Almost like she is avoiding me." Mirai look up at Akihito. "Do you think she and I are really opposite?"

Akihito scratches his head. "Jeez, I don't know. I probably have to talk to her if you want me to. I can figure something out for you."

"Anything but that!" Mirai shouted.

"Uhhh, you don't want me to talk to Amari?" Akihito blinked.

Mirai instantly gazed away with her finger pointing at each other. "I just want to know her, I don't want my boyfriend to talk to her."

Akihito smiled. "Alright then, I'll just give you some advice. How's that sound?"

Mirai smiles back. "That sounds perfect."

That night they plan something for Amari. Then the next day Mirai and Akihito goes to school like they usually do in their everyday life. After school Mirai and Akihito went out searching for Amari at the very same place she was at last time.

Unexpectedly they were ambushed by Amari herself. Mirai was thrown across the woods with a mighty struck from their left. Akihito hovered in the same position as he covered his head with his forearms. Slowly he would settle his arms down, Mirai was nowhere to be found. Akihito panicked as he panted, still searching.

"What is your name, half-youmu?" Amari asked.

Akihito quickly turns behind him, Amari instantly impaled his chest using her red blooded spear. He spit out blood. Akihito felt a pressure on his chest, it was the same pressure Mirai gave him when she and him met. Then the girl twist her spear.

Akihito squint. "My name is Akihito Kanbara."

"So, Akihito, I will ask you one question before you die here. Do you happen to possess the youmu called Beyond the Boundary?"

Mirai told Akihito never to tell Amari the truth even if she forces him, but her blooded spear kept twisting which made his rib cage opens bigger. Mirai leaps over toward Amari. With the red blooded and sharp spear between Akihito and Amari, Mirai's sword slice Amari's spear into half. Akihito was finally set free, however the cut on his chest still hurts, he would collapse on the snow.

Mirai ran to Akihito, shaking him and asking if he is all right. Akihito groans only, he became subconsciously aware of the crippling pain.

"That youmu, is he Beyond the Boundary?" Amari glared.

Mirai slowly stands up with hatred in her eyes. "You may possessed the powers of the Cursed Blood, but that doesn't mean you can kill any youmu you want."

"So he isn't Beyond the Boundary." Amari walks away, whipped her spear on the white snow as Akihito's blood scattered on it. "Such a waste of time, you should have told me sooner."

"But you didn't ask." Said Mirai.

"Hmm?"

"But you didn't ask." Mirai repeat it. "If words is what you wanted, you could've ask with words instead of harming an innocent half-youmu like senpai."

Amari stare at Mirai as if she expect her to strike. An awkward silence came. Amari huffed away without a word. Once again, Mirai was ignored by her. Let alone would there be a moment they could settle things the right way.

Mirai felt insecure.
