I stumbled out of the club, Ashton by my side. The bouncer took one look at us before asking someone to call a taxi.
"We're fine to drive." Ashton slurred before losing his balance and falling over. I giggled as the bouncer gave him a sceptical look.
"Okay, okay. You caught me." He said as he stood back up.
"Hey Katie, do I have anything on my butt?" He turned around and showed me his dust covered jeans.
"Oh Ash." I sighed. He turned towards me and pouted.
"Can you get it off? I just bought these yesterday. And besides, I can't see the damage." I walked up and starting dusting off his jeans. He tensed up a bit as I touched him. When I was confident I had gotten it all off, I stepped back.
"Done Ashy." I sang. The bouncer looked back over to us.
"You're cab should be here in about 5 minutes. Don't leave." He said.
"We won't." I said. Ash took my hand and lead me over to the side of the building, where people were sent to wait for cabs. Being about two in the morning, I was surprised to find that we were the only ones waiting there. I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist as Ash leant his head on my shoulder.
"Hey Katie Batie?" He asked, using the nickname he had given me the first time we had met.
"Yeah Ashy?"
"I have to tell you something." Before I could ask what he had to tell me, I felt his lips press against my neck. He placed soft kisses all over my neck and shoulder, stoping only to bite down on certain spots on my neck.
"Ash, what are you doing?" I asked, my eyes closed in bliss. I hadn't let anyone kiss me since Michael.
"I've been meaning to tell you for a while." He paused, placing more kisses along my neck.
"I think you're amazing. And I like you." He said, turning my head to face him.
"I like you too Ashy. You're fun to be around." I giggled.
"No, I mean, I really like you. Like lots. And it would be nice if you liked me too."
"Well. . ." I trailed off, unsure.
"You don't have to tell me right now if you do. I think we're both smart enough to know that we should enjoy the good things in life. And I want to make tonight a good thing, I hope that made sense." He placed his lips on mine, cutting off anything I would have said.
As we stood there kissing, I wondered if I should pull away. What would Michael think? Then, the thought occurred to me that Michael doesn't care. He didn't show up tonight, and hasn't been present for the last 5 months. Besides, we were finished, over and done with. What Michael thought didn't matter anymore.
