They are idiots. Complete idiots.
The other Trojans brought in a wooden horse statue which contained Greek soldiers. Word got around that my dear my Cassandra told everyone not to open but because of Apollo's curse, nobody believed her except me. I have successfully fought against Apollo's curse, thinking of Cassandra's predictions whenever she told them to me. A strong feeling in my heart was forcing me not to believe her, but I kept my heart strong and fought it till I believed her.
The wooden horse looked innocent enough, but when night fell, Greeks came out. While the other Trojans were celebrating thinking the war was over and later fell asleep, the Greeks crept out, killed the guards and opened the gates.
Now, Hades is unleashed throughout Troy. People were dying, buildings were burning.
I stayed up late at night because I was still thinking of the war and how it changed my life enormously. That was when Aeneas told me of the trick when the guards were killed.
Right now, I was killing Greeks left and right while I waited for Aeneas who needed to get something or so he said. After this, we can sail on out of here.
I had my spare set of bow and arrows along with Hector's sword. I was still wondering how Paris, the terrible shot, managed to hit Achilles in his weak spot. More importantly, how did he know? And that idiot still hasn't returned my bow and arrows he used to kill Achilles. He could have just asked instead of trying to knock my lights out.
Eventually, Aeneas appeared carrying an old man.
"Err...nice baggage you've got there," I said pointing at the old man.
"It's my father, Anchises." The old man smiled and waved at me. "He's weak so I have to carry him. I need your help to fight any Greeks that try to attack me since as you can see I am not in an able position to fight. Oh, and I've got news you may not like."
I gulped. I've already lost everything. What could be worse than-
"Ajax the Lesser raped Cassandra at the Temple of Athena."
I was shocked momentarily before I became enraged at the news. He dares to do that to my Cassandra? He will have less of himself when I'm done with him.
I unsheathed my sword when Aeneas kicked me in the shin still piggy-backing his father.
"I know what you want to do and I understand. I would do the same if another man mistreated my lady. But the gods shall see to it the Greeks shall suffer. You know very well Cassandra is Athena's priestess. Ajax will suffer more than what you could possibly ever do. Now, come on. The ship is waiting."
As much as I hated it, I sensed truth in Aeneas' words. I prayed that the Greeks would all suffer because of Ajax's actions. I prayed to the gods to make it Hades in the living world for the Greeks. Ajax must never leave Troy alive.
We arrived at the ship in a brief moment of time. Several other people were already there. We set sail almost immediately.
"Welcome to my ship, Menessus. These are my companions, the Aeneads. Do you want to be an Aenead too?"
I sat down on a trunk and put my face in my hands. "I'm not joining your little support team. Leave me alone." I grumbled.
"Okay then. You're not an Aenead. Centuries from now, no one is going to know you because you aren't an Aenead. And that's saying something." he said and walked off.
"Whatever."
I have had enough of everything. Once I land in this new place, I am getting a new life. It would only be perfect if Cassandra were here. But I knew she had to stay. She always told me that the only thing she loved more than me was he responsibility. I always respected that. And now we both have to suffer.
I looked up at the starry sky and wished that she would be with me but I knew it was a hopeless wish.
I wiped the tears from my eyes. I lost the love of my life, Cassandra, and possibly my only true friend, Hector. Paris has proven to me that he's just a coward. I couldn't care less about him now.
I unsheathed Hector's sword and slide my hand on the engraving on the side. I couldn't understand the words at all.
I heard somebody clear their throat so I looked up. It was Aeneas though he seemed different. He had a really pissed off face and hands on his hips.
For some reason, an old light bulb flickered in my brain. This person looked awfully familiar despite the exterior looking like Aeneas. Who do I know stand like that?
It was somebody I knew. What was that person's name? I'm sure it's female. Hmmm.... who is it?
Suddenly, I felt weird. Like I was waking up but how could I? I was awake. Unless all this has been a dream. No, it can't be. What about Cassandra? And Hector? Were they all part of my imagination?
I still couldn't guess who this person Aeneas was trying to be. I thought hard. The name was almost reaching me. Then, it came.
