Melanie.
Or was it Cassandra?
I noticed I was on some sort of bed so I sat up.
Hmmm...no. It was definitely Melanie. Not because Melanie was wearing an off the shoulder top. Or because she was holding an iPhone.
How did I know it was Melanie and not Cassandra? It was because Cassandra never once showed me a bitchy look.
"I want an answer, Casper."
"Casper?"
Then I remembered everything. Coming into Dr. Zachary's office and then falling into one of those dreams. Worst of all, I actually forgot that I was really Casper and not this Menessus of Troy, whoever he was. God, that was scary.
Only thing good about being Menessus was that he always knew what to do when life started biting him in the balls. As Casper, I was literally wetting my pants looking at Melanie's face.
"Yes. You are Casper. Don't play dumb with me. You better not be cheating on me!" she screamed.
"Cheating?! Why...I would never cheat on you."
"Yeah. You wouldn't." she said as she narrowed her eyes. "If you aren't cheating on me, care to explain who this Cassandra is?"
"Cassandra?"
"Yes. Cassandra. You were mumbling this woman's name in your sleep for the past hour."
Hour?! I was only out for an hour? But the dream made it feel like it was almost decade.
"Well?!!!" Melanie said as she tapped her foot on the floor of Dr. Zachary's office.
There was no way out except to tell her about the dream. So I pulled a chair, the same one I was sitting on when I collapsed. It took me some time to tell Melanie everything. Once I was done, she just stared at the floor and all her anger was gone.
"What do suppose it means?" she said after a while as she turned to look at me.
With her angry look gone, she had such a beautiful face. Those big brown eyes. Her long brown locks, her amazing lips. It was then I realized something.
She looked exactly like Cassandra. Oh my god. The likeness was extremely scary. Those features. Not a single thing was different between Melanie and Cassandra.
"Casper? Did you hear me?" Melanie said as she tilted her head to the side. Which was also what Cassandra did.
"Ummm...no. What was your question again?"
"Ugh. Casper, that's just like you to daydream when I'm talking to you. I said, what do think it means? The dream I mean. Do you think it could be related to your previous dreams?"
"I'm not too sure. I can't remember the previous dreams."
"Awww, phooey. That sucks." Melanie replied.
We sat for a while before I remembered something that could turn the game against Melanie.
"So I suppose you had no right to get angry at me? I mean it was just a dream, correct?" I turned to her.
"I suppose so..."
"Okay. Soooo.....are you gonna say you're sorry?" I teased her as I nudged her shoulder.
"No." she smiled at me.
"Awww...come on. Is little Melly so shy to admit she's wrong?"
"I am not." she said firmly as she sat up and crossed her arms.
