Selfless And Honest

Chapter 17

"Lily. We have to jump now." Ember says, crouching in front of me.

"Okay." I say quietly and stand up. She stands up and gives me a small smile.

"Hey. It'll be alright. We'll find your dad and whoever else you need to get and we'll go somewhere safe." Ember tells me.

"What about Peter..." I mumble.

"He must know what he's doing." She says before running forward and jumping off the train. I follow. Her parents and brother follow us.

"Follow me." I tell them and start running to Natalie and Andrew's house. I enter the house and run up to there bedroom.

"Natalie! Andrew! Get up!" I exclaim. The door swings open moments after I said that. Natalie I dressed but her hair is down.

"Lily?" Natalie asks in confusion. Andrew walks over to us.

"We have to go. There's something going on with Erudite and Dauntless." I tell them.

"We'll grab a few more people. Meet us at the warehouse we showed you and Beatrice on her birthday." Natalie tells me. I nod.

"I'll get my dad. Then afterwards, Natalie and I have to go find Beatrice." I say. Andrew and Natalie nod. I run downstairs and grab Ember's hand.

"We have a plan. We need to get my dad and go. I know where we're going." I tell her and her family. They nod and follow me as I run to my old house. I open the door and run up to my dad's room.

"Dad!" I call. I hear him running around in his room. He's probably getting changed. Soon the door opens.

"Lily? What are you doing here?" Dad asks.

"It's a Dauntless and Erudite problem. They're going to destroy Abnegation. Now come with us. We have to get to the warehouse you, Natalie, and Andrew took Beatrice and I to on her birthday." I tell him. He nods and follows me out of the house.

"Follow me and stay close. You could easily get lost on the way there." I warn them. They nod and follow me as I begin to run. I make my way through different alleyways until we reach a large building.

"Get in there and wait." I tell them. Dad kisses my forehead before following Ember and her family inside. I stay at the front door. I wonder how Peter is doing...I wonder what he's doing. Hopefully nothing stupid. Oh what am I saying? He's Peter! Of course he might do something stupid!

"Lily!" Natalie calls as she runs towards me with Andrew, Marcus Eaton, and a few others. Caleb is even among them.

"Dauntless have started to enter Abnegation." Andrew tells me. I nod.

"Okay. Andrew I need you to make sure no one panics too bad. All of you stay here with him. Natalie, you and I have to go find Tris. Not now. But right now." I say. Everyone nod and do as they were told. Natalie and I make our way towards the treeline near the Abnegation homes.

"Natalie...were you Dauntless?" I ask as I notice she isn't tired from all of the running we've done. She smiles.

"Yes. And I have a feeling it'll come in handy today." Natalie replies. I smile and look out at the Dauntless stormed Abnegation. But my stomach twists into knots when I see Tris on her knees with three guns pointed at her head. Natalie grabs my pistol and shoots all three of the men. We run towards Tris.

"Mom!? Lily!?" She calls in shock.

"Beatrice." Natalie says and hug her daughter. I pull my knife out and cut the restraints off Tris's wrists.

"We have to go. Okay?" I say softly and help Tris up. She nods and grabs a gun and a pistol off of one of the men. Natalie takes the lead.

"We have to get to your father in an old warehouse that we took you and Lily to on your birthday." Natalie tells Tris. My best friend nods and watches in shock as Natalie looks at the street to make sure it's safe.
