"Oh my gosh, Lauren it's been how many years!" David exclaimed, pulling the brown haired girl in a hug. Lauren hugged back almost immediately, smiling at her old best friend which is her old crush as well.
"So," David said once they pulled back, smiling at the girl in front of him, "How are you? You're now famous, huh?"
"Not really," Lauren giggled, shaking her head. "But yeah, I'm fine and, yeah." David nodded at her, still smiling at the fact that he's finally reunited with his best friend again. "How 'bout you?"
"I'm fine. Not really something to listen to. Just a normal life," David shrugged.
"Well," Lauren said after a few seconds of silence, "it's great to see you again."
"It really is," David agreed, smiling at the girl, who he thinks is beautiful, in front of her. "Oh and, I saw your sister with a guy last time I went to a party with some of my friends."
"Really?" Lauren asked, smiling at the fact that one of her sisters is hooking up with a guy, "but I literally have five sisters." She giggled.
"Oh yeah. Forgot, but it's, uh, Lisa."
"What?!" Lauren asked, her heart breaking.
"It's yeah, Lisa. I even saw them sneaking."
"Sneaking?" Lauren raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"Oh you know what I mean. In a room where they're the only people. One bed," David smirked.
That answered Lauren's question. David might like Lauren for all we know, but he doesn't know that Lauren and Lisa are dating, so why would he lie, right?
"O-okay," Lauren whispered, tears gathering in her brown eyes.
David seemed to notice Lauren's eyes, "Hey, you okay?" But of course, Lauren nodded.
"Lau-" a voice from behind said happily, but stopped once she saw that her girlfriend has company, making her smile drop.
"Hey Lisa," David greeted, smiling at the older girl.
"Uh, hey," Lisa greeted back, smiling fakely. David pulled her in a hug, and of course she can't just push David away so she hugged back.
Once they pulled away, Lisa asked, "Why are you guys together?"
"Oh, no we're not. I just luckily bumped into her." David explained, Lauren nodded but stealthily trying to avoid Lisa's gaze.
"Well, me and Lauren should get going now," Lisa says, pulling Lauren's hand, but David quickly yanked it away.
"Wait! Can I at least get her number first?" David told Lisa, asking for permission, "I really- well, like your sister and I want to at least catch up with her? It's been how many months."
"Y-you what?" Lauren asked, shocked at what she just heard.
"I like you," David told her, this time more confidently, chuckling a bit. "And I wanna have your number."
"Oh. Well, here it is," Lauren says, stuffing her hand to each of her pocket to check if her phone is with her. She felt it at her back pocket, pulling in out to give her phone to David.
After a few minutes, David returned Lauren's phone and saying his goodbye. Lisa was furious about what happened a while ago.
They are both seated at Lisa's car right now but the car isn't moving. They are just sitting there, waiting for someone to start a conversation. Lisa's hand was tapping the steering wheel anxiously, not knowing what to say.
"He likes you," Lisa said after a few more minutes, slowly turning her head to her sister.
"I know," Lauren said, more of a whisper, her head hanging low.
"And you still gave him your number? You are dating me, Lauren. If you don't remember, I'm your girlfriend," Lisa said, running her hand through her hair.
"We can still be friends, Lisa. I can't just turn down his offer. I didn't want to come off rude," Lauren defended herself, her head now looking up to meet her sister's eyes.
"But still! You'll be hanging out with him?! Alone?! God knows what that guy is planning!"
"He's a good guy, okay?! I've known him since I was, I don't like- six?" Lauren told her calmly, "I trust him." She added. "And he still haven't asked me out, okay? You're going too far already. He just wants to catch up, that's all." Lauren said. "We didn't even talk about it. It's not yet sure. Can you chill up? You're over reacting."
"Okay. Let's say, he asked you to meet up with him. Like a friendly thing. But what if he tries to kiss you? To even touch you! Gosh, Lauren. I know you like him too!" Lisa threw her hands in the air frustratedly.
"Oh, so you're saying, there's a chance that I'll cheat on you? You don't trust me?" Lauren asked, growing frustrated as well. "And talk about cheating-"
"What are you saying, I trust you, baby. I just don't want to lose you."
"Bullshit," Lauren laughed bitterly. "You don't want to lose me yet you're having "fun" with other guys?" Lauren says, quoting the word fun.
"What are you trying to say? That I cheated on you?!" Lisa shouted, shocked.
"Yes. Because you really did!" Lauren shouted back, tears starting to fall from her eyes.
"Where did you get that from?" Lisa asked but more calmly this time, her face turning red and her jaw tightening.
"D-David," Lauren managed to say through sobs.
"See?! He's making up stories!" Lisa shouted, even if she knows deep inside he's not.
"How can h-he do that?! He doesn't even know we're dating! He saw you! He's not a liar, you're the liar!" Lauren shouted. But she didn't even realize she did.
"Now you're on his side?" Lisa asked, laughing bitterly.
"Yes," Lauren said, wiping away her tears.
"Maybe I did cheat on you," Lisa said, turning her head to the engine and starting it. The ride was very uncomfortable for the two of them that even a knife can cut the tension filling the air.
"Lauren we're here," Lisa said, not looking at her sister.
They both hopped out of their car, moving fast to get rid of each other. I mean, yeah, they really want to be next to each other every time, but this time, it's just... Different. They both stand on their porch, Lisa stepping forward to open the door.
Once the door was fully opened, the figure of their mom is in front of them, looking very disappointed and said,
"I need to talk to the two of you."
