Chapter 1: Taken

Chapter 1

10 years ago....

I laid on the couch. I stared up at the ceiling my face blank. My eyes staring into Outer Space. My brother Leo sat in front of the T.V watching Space Heroes. Mikey was in his room playing with his action figures he found laying around in the sewer one day. Donnie was reading his science books that Sensei gave to him on Mutation Day.

I looked over at Leo. "I'm so bored! Do you want to do something?" Leo looks at me. "Like what?" I look around. "I don't know....anything!" Leo looks over at his Space Heroes show. "We could watch Space Heroes together!" I give Leo a disgusted face. I shake my head. "Why do you even WATCH that show? Its so stupid," Leo glared at me. "Because its awesome! I don't understand how you think its STUPID!" I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."

I looked around again. My eyes look up towards the ceiling again. That's when an idea formed in my mind. "Hey what if we went to the surface?" Leo's body froze. He turned to look at me. "But Master Splinter said not to go to the surface without his permission! He says its dangerous!" I groan, knowing what Leo said was true, but the surface was the one place we haven't explored yet. "Oh c'mon Leo, we can beat whatever danger is up there! We're tuff!" I jam my thumb to my chest, smiling proud.

Leo shook his head. "But Sensei said NOT to go to the SURFACE WITHOUT his PERMISSION!" I groan again and plop back down on the couch. "Your no fun." Leo rolls his eyes. "Whatever." I roll onto my stomach. I look up again, then back at Leo. "What Sensei doesn't know can't hurt him."

Leo looked at me again. "But-" "We won't get caught. C'mon It'll just be a quick second and then we come straight back!" Leo sat and thought for a minute. ".... fine. But we come RIGHT back ok?" I nod. "Alright!" I grabbed Leo's hand and we run out of the lair.

I run to the nearest manhole we could find. I was practically jumping up and down. "Just a peak." Leo said as he crossed his arms. I nod. "Yeah yeah whatever." I climb up the ladder, I hear Leo say behind me. "We are so in trouble..." I roll my eyes. "Stop worrying will ya?" Leo didn't say anything else.

I took a deep breath.

And I opened the manhole.

My eyes widen as I look around. I step out and take it all in. A smile is slapped on my face. No matter how hard I tried the smile stuck. I couldn't get it off. Leo climbs up after me, muttering this is not a good idea. When Leo reached the surface his mouth dropped open as he looked around.

I looked at him, still grinning. "Its amazing!" I exclaimed. Leo got up, still looking around. "Whoa...its even more cooler in real life than on T.V!" Leo exclaimed. I looked around a corner. "C'mon Let's go explore more!" That's when Leo snapped out of his awestruck phase. "Wait! I said one peak and then we're out of here!"

I cross my arms annoyed. "COME ON Leo! We just got here! Let's just have a little fun! Then we'll be back and act like nothing happened! No problamo!" Leo shook his head. "No no no! What if humans see us!"

I rolls my eyes again. "They won't see us," but Leo just shook his head. I step out onto the street. "look," I spread out my arms. "See?" I smile big, Leo jumped up. "Raph! A human might see you!" I snort. "Are you kidding? I see no humans ar-" that's when I saw a human staring at me with wide eyes. He held a phone in his hand and seemed to be calling someone. "Yes hello theres a weird alien thing in the middle of the road! No I'm not crazy! I-its even talking!"

I froze staring at the man, he hissed in the phone. "I-its looking at me!" Someone said something at the opposite end of the phone. The man nodded. He puts his phone away. He looks at me and puts his hands up slowly. "D-don't hurt me! P-plz!" Leo looks at me. He hisses. "RAPH!" I back away from the man as he backs away from me. I look over at Leo than at the man.

And we just stood there.

Frozen.

The man too scared to move. Me too shocked to move. And Leo too afraid to be seen to move.

It stayed like that until I hear the screeching of tires against the street. My eyes widen as I see a truck hurtling towards me. It stops in the space between me and Leo. Tall dark shadows hop out the back of the truck. They point short black sticks at me and shouted "FREEZE!"

My legs tremble. "I-I mean no harm!" I squeaked, terrified. The shadows didn't go away.
They stayed.
I trembled as I felt something hit my shoulder. The world suddenly spun. I thought I heard someone scream my name. I wasn't sure. Last thing I remembered was this.

The shadows got me.

Leo watched me be dragged into the truck by the men in black suits with the words FBI on their backs. Leo scrambled back into the sewer and ran to Sensei. "SENSEI! SENSEI! THE HUMANS GOT RAPH!" Sensei looked at Leo shocked. "What!?" Leo explains to Sensei what happened. Sensei's eyes widen. "Stay here. Watch your brothers!" He quickly runs out of the lair and goes topside.

Sensei looks around. His ears prick as it hears the truck. He chases the sound. He hears it get louder as he gets closer. Sensei sticks to the shadows until he sees the truck. He runs after it on all fours.

The people in the truck sees Sensei in the rearview mirror. Their eyes widen. "Step on it!" The truck goes faster. Sensei runs faster almost catching up to the truck. One person pokes their heads out and aims a tranquilizer gun at Sensei. He shoots but Sensei quickly dodges.

He aims at Sensei again. He shoots again. Sensei jumps back as it almost hits his arm. The truck gets faster. Sensei tries to catch up again. But this time they shot real bullets at the ground near Sensei's feet. Sensei stumbles back surprised. The truck slowly starts to go out of sight. Sensei's eyes widen. "RAPHAEL!" He tries to chase the truck again.

But it was gone.

Sensei falls to his knees. "No....my son...." His body shook in sadness and disbelief. "I failed..." He stayed on the ground like that for a while. Until he grew conscious of the world again. He got up and returned to the lair.
