Chapter 3: A Day of Stealing Lives

Chapter 3

Leo ran jumped from rooftop to rooftop. He thought about Sensei in his dojo, not coming out. He thought about the last time he saw Raph, he thought about how he could have stopped him from getting captured...if he just held him back from going to the surface.... 

"Leo?"

Leo looked up to see Donnie looking at him with concern. Leo realized he had stopped running. Leo sighed. "Sorry...I was just thinking..." he looked down, not meeting Donnie's eyes. Donnie looked down too, already knowing what he was thinking about. 

"C'mon, Mikey already ran up ahead. Let's catch up to him." Donnie said as he jumped to the next rooftop. Leo nods slowly and followed him.

I kept walking down the street. My eyes scanning the streets. My heart is still pounding from that encounter with that man. I closed my eyes tight.

I sneaked up behind Leo with Mikey at my side. I grinned at Mikey. "Ready?" I whispered. Mikey nodded with excitement. I held up my three fingers and counted down to one. When I reached zero Mikey and I took out our water balloons and slammed it onto Leo."BOOYAKASHA!" I yelled with a smirk on my face. Leo growled. "HEY!!!" He turns around and glared at me and Mikey as we roared with laughter. Mikey looked at me. "Bookyakasha? What does that mean?" I smirked. "I don't know, it just came out," Mikey smiled, "booyakasha... I like it!" He grins big and stood up, pointing his finger at the ceiling. "From this point forth my favorite word is BOOYAKASHA!!!!"  I rolled my eyes. "Ok ok just don't get carried away with it, it was like a one time thing Mikey."

I opened my eyes slowly, tears streaming down my cheeks. 

Mikey.

Leo.

Donnie.

Master Splinter.

My memory of how they looked like was fading. I could only remember their voices and the memories I had with them.

But remembering how they looked like was hard.

I shook my head and kept walking, keeping my senses alert.

And then suddenly I saw it.

A giant turtle.

I felt my body froze. A giant turtle standing a little far from me looking around, not noticing me.

I couldn't be.

I closed my eyes tight and shook my head then opened them.

I felt my heart sink.

The turtle was gone.

Mikey stood on the sidewalk looking around. Searching for any excitement. Kraang, The Foot, even The Purple Dragons! 

But even on the surface in the city of New York everything was quiet like in the Dojo.

Mikey looked down thinking about when Sensei came back without Raph. 

Mikey's hand reached up and covered his mouth as tears streamed down his face. He blended into the shadows looking down. 

"Raph will come back right?" Mikey looked up at Splinter, his eyes shining with tears. "Raph WILL come back, right!?" Mikey repeated. Splinter didn't respond but stare at the ground in silence. Showing no pain or sadness. 

No emotion.

Mikey looked down, his eyes now pouring with tears. He looked at Leo. He looked at Leo for help. But Leo was almost the same as Splinter.
