We went to base a couple of hours later. The guys had to check in with their CO so Taylor and I wondered around base saying hi to the people we knew. Before we knew it, the guys found us and we were back to training with them.

We were finally done for the day. The guys weren't though.

I said Ethan, come on, can we leave? I'm pretty sure Taylor doesn't want to stay here all day. Plus I've been on base this whole time you've been back.

Ethan said fine. Go home. Get some sleep. Do not leave the house until we get back. I don't want any trouble. Do you promise me?

I sighed and said yes. I promise.

He handed over the keys to the Hummer we drove to base.

I said come on, let's go.

As we walked back to the car, Taylor asked what was that?

I said what?

As we drove back home, Taylor said you and Eth. What's going on, Jas? What aren't you telling me?

I said nothing happened.

Tay said obviously, something happened while I was gone. Just tell me.

I said fine.  When Sara died, he hasn't been the same. He took more tours than ever. He never lets me out of the house because he thinks the same thing that happened to Sara is going to happen to me. That's why he never lets me go out. So when you called and said that you were coming, I thought he would loosen up and let me out. But I guess not.

Tay said I'm so sorry, Jasmine. I didn't know. I swear.

I said its fine.

We got home and I ran up to my room and showered. I stayed in my room for the rest of the day and didn't really talk to anyone else.

Colton

Taylor and Jasmine haven't been talking to each other since they got home. The boys and I went on a tour around the island and bought some stuff to bring home with us. Taylor was sitting on the couch in the living room when I plopped down next to her and said what's wrong. Talk your big brother, Colton.

She said it's nothing, Colton. Don't worry about it.

I said see, when someone says that, I start to worry. I worry about you, Taylor. You've been quiet and distant since you and Jasmine got back earlier. What happened?

Taylor said tomorrow's the anniversary of Jasmine's older sister's death. Tomorrow marks seven years since the accident. Her name was Sara. Sara and Ethan got married young. They had a son named Zachary Jacob. Ethan was gone a lot of the time so Zac went to go live my my mom and dad for a while. Then he came to live with me. Now he's back living out here in Oahu. Sara died when Zac was just a kid. He didn't know what was going on at the time. Now he does. Tomorrow's just going to be a hard day. For all of us. We're going to her memorial tomorrow morning.

I said oh my gosh. I didn't know. I'm sorry.

Taylor said don't be sorry. You didn't know.

She got up and walked up to her room. Everyone came in from the kitchen and plopped down on a chair.

Thomas asked where's Taylor? I thought she was with you.

I said yea. She's upstairs.

Anthony asked what happened.

I said I think it's better if she told you guys herself.

I got up and walked upstairs to my room and stayed in there.
