Marinette was feeling . . . flustered. No, more than flustered; she was feeling unhinged. How, how, how had this day gone so wrong? First she found out that Adrien was Chat Noir, and then she found out that Adrien knew about her crush on him?! And why did he want to know if it was true? Did he like her? Or did he just want to know? All of these questions and more were racing through Marinette's mind when . . . BAM! Marinette heard noises coming from her roof. She heard a faint, "dang it!" and someone walking around.

I wonder who's up there? Marinette wondered to herself. Wait a second . . . oh crap! It's probably Chat!

Her hunch was probably correct, as she then heard a soft knock on her trap-door. "Princess?" Chat asked. "May I come in?"

"No, I'll come up . . ." Marinette was certainly not in the mood to see Chat right now. But she couldn't act strange. Adrien could NOT find out that she knew his secret. Not now. Not ever. She pulled the small latch that kept the door closed, then she stepped up onto the roof. "What's up?"

"Oh, nothing much. My life isn't as exciting as you may think, Purrincess . . ." Chat bowed and kissed Marinette's hand.

"Wow kitty, I see you've been working up your charm . . ." Marinette blushed a little. Yes, this was Chat kissing her hand. But it was also ADRIEN. Never in her life had she felt so amazing.

"I do what I can. I even made up some purrfectly pawsome pick-up lines for you, Princess. They're the cat's meow!"

Marinette was now an apple. Literally, an apple. Her face was that red. She struggled to contain her laughter as she tried to act normal. "Well, Chat, I guess your puns are getting better if they're working on me now . . . "

"That's just the reaction I was hoping for, Princess." And with that, Chat bowed and put his arm around Marinette. He laughed happily, looking at her with curiosity.

Marinette was still blushing. She desperately wished her face wouldn't get so red at the worst meowments. Oh crap, now she was thinking in puns . . . She averted her eyes from Chat's gaze, turning her head away from his. She stared at the tiny pebbles on her roof, trying to get a hold of herself.

"Marinette," Chat pulled his arm away, and looked at her with a concerned look, "are you okay?"

Ha, like you don't know what happened earlier . . . She remarked to herself. "I'm fine, Chat. Just some . . . drama at school." Marinette tried to play it cool. Act normal. Don't let him know that you know.

This just made Chat look more curious. "Please tell me, Princess. After all, they do say it always helps to--"

Chat was cut off by a single tear. A single salty tear, coming from Marinette. She didn't really know why she was crying. She was Ladybug, for goodness sake, she was stronger than this. But still, the tears came. She couldn't deny it. How could she hide the fact that she knew he was Adrien without venting to him? But she couldn't just tell him her feelings! They were about him! Marinette  barely noticed that she had dropped onto her knees now. Chat was in front of her, rubbing her arm gently with his hand. He lifted up her face, which was buried in her knees, with his other hand.

"M-marinette?" His eyes showed hints of guilt, although it was clear he, too was trying to hide his secret. The moment he looked guilty was the moment someone would ask, "why?" And that could only lead to a long, stupid, and obviously un-true explanation.
"Marinette, w-what's wrong? Is it . . . did I say something wrong?"
