The Dream
Running through the woods, my torn converse slapping against the dirt, I am pushing myself to go faster. My arms pumping as I run, green leaves slapping my arms making them sting a little. I come to a halt when I see a boy in front of me. I take in his appearance, black worn skinny jeans with a rip in the left knee, a Pink Floyd shirt with the sleeves rolled over twice, and some black vans that seem worn. The boy is looking at me and his lips are moving but I can't hear what he is saying. He walks closer and I try to step back but it seems my feet are glued to the ground.
Suddenly the ground beneath my feet caves and I'm falling down a deep hole, legs kicking, arms flailing about desperately trying to get a hold of something to stop my fall. I land with a thud and I'm in a park. I walk around and find an entry type looking thing in the trees. My feet pull me toward it and through it.
The walkway comes to an opening with a bunch of big trees on the perimeter shadowing over a little pond. Apon further investigation I see a blanket laid out with a basket of food lying atop it. Just now noticing, I look around at the poorly hung white christmas lights. The boy comes out of a little clearing in the trees to my right, and I look at him.
We sit down to eat and he apologizes for the food being take-out, and everything looking poorly done. Before I can control what comes out of my mouth, my lips are already moving. Telling him it's beautiful and that I love it.
He leans in and pulls me to his lap after we finish eating. Im sitting there staring into his eyes and whispering how much I love him. He puts his forehead against mine and rubs our noses before leaning to connect our lips.
*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
I groggily slam my hand on my alarm clock whining. I really don't want to go to school today. But I still get up and start getting ready for my day.
I finish getting ready and grab my bag and keys. Then I go downstairs and see my mom sitting at the table. I kiss her on the head and walk out.
I go to my truck and get in sitting there for a moment, waiting for Kaylyn to come. I love my truck, it's a 2004 Ram 1500 with a v8 motor, and touch screen radio with aux. The reason I'm waiting for my sister is because she totaled her car when she got hit by a garbage truck.
My sister comes out and then tells me she is getting a ride from her boyfriend, so I just pull out of the driveway and start driving to school. My house is about a 10 minute drive to school, so I get there fairly quickly.
When I get to school I park in my normal spot and then grab my bag and phone, putting my ear buds in.
I'm blasting my music, sitting at my normal spot by the big tree and drawing, when someone yanks my ear buds out. I look up and see Katy. My best friend.
"Jay! You didn't text me this morning I had to walk to school!" she said.
"I'm sorry Katy, I've just been in my own world lately. Especially with homework and other things. My dad is finally coming home tomorrow night and I'm super excited about that. Maybe I can talk to him about the dreams. See if they make any sense to him." I say to her.
"You had it again didn't you?" she asked. Katy knows everything about me and I'm not even kidding. She has known me since 2nd grade.
"I just can't seem to figure out his face, it's always blurred when I wake up." I say.
"Ya know, maybe it's a sign that you are getting love soon." Simon said walking up to us.
"HA! I love the joke Simon." I say.
