We are all made of star stuff - Neil Degrasse Tyson.
No matter what may be happening, your mindset is very important. If you think happy, you will be happy. Sometimes, it can feel as if the whole world is against you; but you must conquer the hardships of life. If people bully you, harass you, and generally make you feel bad, then they aren't worth your time to begin with. Take your mind away from them, know the fact that no one in the world is the same as you, (as cheesy as it sounds.) You may hear of "The Struggle," maybe in jokes, maybe in people complaining. "The Struggle" is where character is born, wether you shrivel away, or thrive over the fuss of life. The way you think, truly changes your life. Now onto the hard part. Going the extra mile to makes someone's day with a simple compliment can help you, and them as well. Now if the people who harass or bully you, don't show them any attention (well unless you want to set aside differences but usually that doesn't work.) Depression is a thing, people spread negativity everywhere, we all do. But we should stop it, it can be "cool" or "funny" to make fun of someone, but you have absolutely no idea what they are going through. If our existence on this Earth is short, then why should we make it worse? Think before you say something. Words are powerful, but actions may change someone's life. If you feel as if you are not good enough, or not worth someone's time then you are wrong. Someone always cares about you, maybe your friends, family, or someone else; talk to them. It can be healthy to not be around people and relax on your own, take a breather and look at your options, but if you do this too much it falls into a vicious cycle of isolation. Talking to people will help. Coping activities, like a hobby, watching tv, sports (etc) can help you. Just keep in mind that the coping activities do not solve the problem. It is your job and responsibility to be happy, happiness is a choice; always.
