According to the doctor who had came over yesterday, I had a panic attack.
"It has to be the trauma of your...accident," he said, and I couldn't believe my ears. Trauma!? Just because I rolled down the stairs? I wanted to argue that it wasn't possible because I don't feel traumatized but my father shot me a look.
Fine, whatever.
I leave the house right after breakfast, wanting to visit the nearest hairsalon. My hair is growing out of control like weeds, and I really need to get my split ends trimmed. As I walk, I recall that school is going to re-open next month, and groan. A couple stare at me strangely before scampering away. As quick as they hurried off, I could still hear what they are whispering.
"She looks like the missing actress' daughter..."
"Oh, yeah, come to think of it...Should we call the media?"
I feel something snapped in my head, and I jog over to the murmuring couple. "Excuse me," I call, trying to hold back my temper. "Aren't you being a little rude? Calling the media?" I tilt my head and tap my foot impatiently. "Didn't your parents teach you anything about respecting other's privacy?"
The couple's jaws drop, but the girl immediately recovers and glares at me. "Mind your business. You can't control our mouths, okay? What are you going to do about that?" She raises her chin, as if challenging me to a fight. I clench my fists and slap her cheek hard.
"This bitch...!" The boy steps in, pulling his shocked girlfriend behind him. "You think I don't have the guts to hit a girl?" He raises his fist at me, and I shut my eyes, shielding my face.
"Stop."
I open my eyes slowly to see a tall boy standing in front of me, holding the other boy's fist firmly. His shoulders are broad, and there is no doubt that he is trained in some sport. Wow, so there are actual princes who save defenceless people like me. Though I'm not that defenceless.
The boy's eyes narrow. "It's not your problem so get out of here!" He tries to pull back his hand.
The indigo-haired guy lets him go, and sighs. "Go."
The two boys have a little stare-down contest before the couple leaves reluctantly. The guy then proceeds to walk away without any acknowledgement of me, so I grab onto his sleeve. He turns and meets my eyes.
He is indeed handsome, but something about those dark blue eyes seem familiar. Before I can even say anything the boy speaks.
"Let go." He eyes at my hand, and I gulp. My grip loosens and he begins to walk away again.
I sigh loudly. First the fainting thing, then now this. Nothing has been going right in my life ever since the stupid accident. Curse that stupid servant who I don't even know personally.
Luckily for me, the hairdresser did a good job of cutting my hair. I left the salon, my mood brightening a little.
When I reach home, my father is helping Mitsu to unpack her things. As soon as he sees me, he beckons me to help out too.
"What? I don't want to." I furrow my eyebrows. "Just let Yama..."
"He's on leave today, remember?" My father reminds me. "Just this once. Please?"
I end up giving in to my father's huge puppy eyes and go over to a box. I lift it up, surprised that it is rather light, and then make my way to the guest room.
"Wait, she's not staying there. She's going to stay in my room," my father points out, and I roll my eyes in disbelief.
"Whatever," I say and make my way upstairs. There is some noises in my father's room so I assume that it is Mitsu and settle the box outside. "Ha, take this in yourself, woman." I stick out my tongue at the door and is about to move away when I see something black in the box.
"Oh. My. God." I freeze in my tracks. There is a spider. A big, hairy, leggy spider.
And it is heading towards me.
I scream so loud that I am sure that our neighbours think that someone is being murdered. I hear my father let out a surprised gasp as I charge down the stairs. Then something so unexpected happens. I miss a step and begin to fall.
My mind races. Not again. The last time it happened I had went--
Wait, what was that?
I feel my leg hit the steps, and expect the landing to be painful. Instead, I just feel a little sore and uncomfortable.
"Ouch...You're heavy." Someone speaks from under me, and I look up to meet a pair of emerald eyes.
For a moment I am speechless. "E...excuse me?" I squeak, almost lost in those eyes.
"Are we going to stay in this position forever?" He asks cheekily, and I blush.
"Sorry." I hurriedly get up. My father run up to us and Mitsu down the stairs, asking if the both of us are uninjured. I shake my head, and turn to frown at the boy. His hair is the same shade of brown like Mitsu's, and he is dressed in a plain black long-sleeve and grey skinny jeans. His look is completed with a darker grey scarf wrapped around his neck.
"Oh, Jun-chan. I'm sure you don't know who he is." Mitsu begins to talk.
I roll my eyes. "Of course I don't. Why is there a random stranger in our house?"
My father looks at the boy and chuckles awkwardly. "He's not a random stranger..."
"He's my little brother." Mitsu smiles. "I did tell you that I have a younger brother right?" She gestures at the boy. "His name is Souji. He will be living here with us, so please you two get along!" My eyes widen in shock.
Wait. Her brother?
Wait. If my father do marry Mitsu, doesn't that mean he's my uncle?
Oh hell no.
I glare at the grinning Mitsu and Souji, and finally decide on something.
I will have to do whatever it takes to break up my father's and Mitsu's relationship, and then make this pair of siblings get out of our household for good.
