Chapter 2

Alice's pov

"ok so you're a fashion designer? " I asked her as we headed towards the rooftop where the party was going on.

She nodded.
" then what are you doing here I mean you don't work here so how I mean"

"you'll get to know" She smirked a little.
"we're here"

We exit the elevator and I nearly chocked. The rooftop was big, as big as a football field with people scattered in it.
The decorations were all white which resembled the silver light from the moon. It was quiet breezy and my  sleeveless dress wasn't helping. The goosebumps rose on my skin and not just only because of the cold.
My eyes met a figure whom I wanted to be the last person I ever meet.

He walked out of the elevator with two more people behind him out of which one was the same man from earlier who literally saved me from being humiliated more than I already was.
He had changed his black suit into a nave blue one. And his eyes held the same coldness.
I noticed that everyone had stopped talking, there was pin drop silence, I only sound was of his shoes whenever they hit the floor.
All the eyes including mine were on him.
He walked through the gathering with dignity, confidence and look that says 'I'm the boss'.
He went to the mike and roamed his eyes all over. I quickly hid behind the nearest pillar and Lilly chuckled, understanding my actions.

"Hello everyone. I'm Adrian Wilson, the ceo of 'Wilson constructions' one of the best infrastructure companies but I think you all might know me and my company very well after all you all are the build makers along with me." he started.

He is the ceo!!!!!

Why didn't anyone tell me?
I cried from the inside.

I knew he would be an important figure in the company but didn't expect to be the ceo.

Oh god please don't let him fire me.

"There is a very specific reason for this party as you all might know that we have started with our biggest project up till now for which we had been working day and night for months.
We aim at making our company the best and on top of the list of the fastest growing infrastructure companies. We expertise in executing large and complex infrastructure projects with the best quality and hard work we can.
Our company will operate through four large strategic business units - urban infrastructure, industrial infrastructure, quality and utility services.

It is one of the biggest projects not only for our company but for others. And I want each and every one of you to work with full determination and if I think that anyone of you is not capable to work here you better leave before I ruin you for toying with me and the company.

By the time he finished his speech everybody looked at him with fearful eyes. I looked towards my left to see the lily was no longer there.

I looked around at spotted her walking towards Adrian. And then they hugged.
My eyes widened and my jaw hit the ground in shock. I must be looking like an idiot standing and staring at them.
They started talking about something. Lily talked to him in a very general manner, she was relaxed not tensed like others when they talk to him.

She must be close to him.

After ten minutes of hiding behind the pillar when I made sure that he was no longer there I decided to leave. I turned around and went towards the elevator.

I was walking through the hallway when a voice froze me.

"I don't need an assistant" a familiar angry voice said.

I ran towards the elevator when I bumped into a wall almost knocking me over.
I stumbled but somehow regained my balance and looked up to the wall that suddenly came in my way.

A gasp escaped my mouth when my eyes met a certain blue ones glaring at me.
I stepped back and decided to run.

"stop! " he yelled which was enough to make me halt my steps.

He took a step forward making me instantly take one back. He narrowed his eyes and strode towards me till my back hit something.
He put his arms on either side of my head and leaned in. I averted my gaze from his piercing one, looking anywhere but him.

"look at me" he ordered.

When I didn't obey his hand found my jaw and harshly turned my head to face him.
His eyes bored into mine with unknown emotions flowing into them.

My eyes filled with tears and I breathed heavily when a certain memory flashed in my consciousness. My hands started to tremble and I became wobbly at my knees.

He reminded me of 'him'.
The person from whom I ran away.
The person who didn't care about me, the person because of whom I still get nightmares.

He was so close to my face, caging me like iron bars does to the convicted.
His eyes furrowed in confusion and shock when he looked at my state
Clearly not understanding the reason of my trembling state.

My hands became sweaty and I tried to push him off with my delicate hands that didn't even budge his chest an inch. Instead he came closer that now our chests were almost touching.
I was breathing through my mouth, taking in heavy breaths to fill my lungs. My heart beat was a million times per minute

He looked at me with his eyes searching mine for some kind of clue.
Now I couldn't control and let the tears escape my eyes.

The hallway was empty with no noise at all. The only sounds of my breath and heart bear could be heard.

"Adrian? What are you doing here mom wants to talk to you." came a sweet female voice from behind.

I looked behind to see lily. Her eyes widened when she saw me crying. I looked back at him to see him still intently staring at me.
"Adrian" She said a little more louder which grabbed his attention.

He looked behind him increasing the distance between us in doing so. I took the opportunity and ducked from under his arm and ran inside the elevator quickly pressing on the button. The doors of the elevator closed and I saw him looking at me with a face that showed confusion and curiosity.

I kept my hand over heart to even my breath and heart beat. Closing my eyes I took deep breaths hoping that it would give me some calmness that I needed right now.
By the time I reached the ground floor my breaths were even.

She said mom.

Are they siblings?
